  • Spent 2 nights in Pattaya last week. A long term resident (unaware of my LB admiration weekness) of Pattaya recommended The Ice Inn Hotel.

To summarise - 5 floors (no lift), approximately 10 rooms per floor, single (fan) - queen double (aircon) - king double (aircon), 24 hour reception, safe in lobby (access 7am to 7pm), refrigerator in each room, TV with 80+ channels, aircon not over the bed, very clean rooms, separate wet room with electric shower, internet cafe attached to building.

Location - 2nd road opposite DHL, 200 metres north of Mike's shopping mall on opposite side of the road, in a quiet side soi near Soi Diane.

Access from soi or 2nd road through internet cafe.

Price - I opted for a queen size bedroom on floor 4 - 580 baht walk in rate.

Downside - Noise from the corridor into the room is apparent (you don't want to be entertaining a 'howler' when you hear footsteps outside the room), but no noise apparent from neighbouring rooms.

Verdict - Great value for money, great location, very quiet in the building at night, ladyboy friendly, great service - I highly recommend and will use again.

Website - www.iceinnpattaya.com - crap site, does not do the Inn/Hotel the justice it deserves.

    Regards.

    • Just booked Arcadia Mansion, soi14 off 2nd road. Part of Carlton group. 760 baht a night for over xmas and new year! Supposed to be decent place, and i ain't moaning at the price, seeing as the exchange rates are shite.
We've got to get in to get out

      • Pattaya Bay Resort is all booked up over Chrstmas/New Year's.

And a buddy of mine just snagged the last room at LK Pavilion.

Here's a new one if you're staying a month. The QD2 on Soi Buckhow has a very low monthly rate of about 14K-15K a month once you pay for water and electric.

On a daily basis this joint is no great bargain but for a month's stay over the holidays it's about as good as you're going to get.

        • So it was a good idea to book early in PBR for 2nd half of December. Right now my no. 1 hotel in Pattaya.

          • Here are a couple of views of my (deluxe) room at Pattaya Bay Resort. All in all I was quite happy with it & it's location, I had never really wandered over to soi Buakow before, so I was glad that PBR was central between it & Beach rd . Good value for the price.

I don't think I would've been happy in the standard room however, nothing wrong with it, just too small for me.

                • Hey Guys,
I'm visiting Thailand in January an am looking for a hotel in Pattaya, but it is really tough wading through all these threads, especially when everyone has their own standards.
Basically, here is what I'm looking for:
Good location (walking distance to many of the LB bars)
                  High speed internet in room
                  In-room safe
                  Oviously guest/LB friendly

Other than that, I'm looking to spend maybe 1,500 to 2,500 baht/night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

                  Thanks, Matt

                  • i have stayed at the Kerrati Home stay on soi Dianna Inn , Corner soi LK Metro, many times over the previous 3 years....

Always found it friendly and comfortable , until my last trip in November.....

Security ...yea security ...yea right.....the night security man leaves all the keys on top of the desk so he can have a snooze....

This is great to bring back, 1 , 2 or even 3 ladyboys while he is having a snooze.....

Some unsuspecting asshole took the key to my room and stole my suitcase whcih contained jocks , socks and jeans.....

i arrived back at my room at 7am one morning to find my key missing .....the security guy looked stunned ...he had only been to the 7/11 for 5 minutes.....

                    hahha

                    too much of a coincidence....anyway ....

Great little room , too bad NO in room safe ...

will never stay there again ...

Butt ....if you do ...make sure you take your key with you....

                      • so i'm planning my first trip to Pattaya. I'll be there for 15-20 days and I need to choose a place to stay.

both Jasmine hotel and Galaxy suites looks nice and I've read good things about them in the forum.

my question which one you think is nicer.

i know they are both at the same area, Jasmine rooms seems bigger and it is cheaper but Galaxy rooms seems newer and bit more fancy which is nice plus they have free wifi in the room and a safe in each room.

any other things I should pay attention to?

other hotel options are also possible, basically I'm looking for a place near Walking Street, safe, clean (very important), and cheap (up to 900B/night) and of course that won't give me problems having company over.

any info you guys can give to help me choose will be appreciated

                          Hey Along,

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip to Sodom By the Sea!

Just about any hotel in Pattaya is only about 5 minutes away from Walking Street by baht bus.  These run 24/7, cost 10 baht, and the typical waiting time is only a few seconds.

So there is really no reason to be right on Walking Street.

One of the main bars you'll be hanging out in will be EZY Bar which is a great bar on WS and make sure you introduce yourself to DJ Karl.

But other than EZY Bar I have not been in any other Walking Street ladyboy bar even once (except for the now defunct Lita's) since I moved to Pattaya.  Too much attitude from the WS girls and thousands of ladyboys are spread out all over town.

So my main point is just about any hotel is a good location so there's no sense limiting your choices to just WS.

I gotta disagree with you my good friend...

If you haven't been in the bars, how do you know that the girls have an attitude?

And truth be told, almost every working girl in Pattaya ends up being a walking street girl at some time or times during their careers...

Even some of your favorites from La Bamba and 54 Bar find their way to Walking Street when the doors to their bars close...I see them there all the time...

And some of my all time favorite Pattaya girls can be found on Walking Street...In fact I find that it is a very good meeting place...I just give them a call and like magic they appear...

I do agree that if you are here like yourself for the long-term, there is no need to visit Walking Street bars every evening...But, if you only here for a couple of weeks, Walking Street visits are a must...No trip to Pattaya would be complete without a stop at Jenny Star Bar...if for no other reason than to have a drink and chat with Jenny...She is a delight...And even a stop at Linda Bar...where you can follow in the footsteps of PanzerPorn and order a steak dinner (yes, they do serve reasonable priced and not bad food)....albeit you will unfortunately be entertained by ladyboys well past their prime...

I do agree that there are many girls scattered about in small beer bars all over town...And that is truly what makes Pattaya a very special place for ladyboy lovers...

And you are correct...getting around this town is very easy...no need to be in a hotel on Walking Street...It's just a short distance from everywhere...

BTW...To the OP...I posted a similar comment on your other thread which posed the same question...The Jasmine is a fucking dump...I spent one night there...well, just part of the night...but only because I had paid for the night and they refused to make a refund...In truth, I spent most of the evening in the room of a Jenny Star Bar girl...whose shit room was not as shitty as the Jasmine...The only good thing about it is that is is next door to EZY Bar...But then again, EZY Bar is easily and quickly accessible from just about any place in town...

These are just my opinions and I'm sure many will disagree with me...

                            Cheers,

                            Kahuna

                            • I agree 100% though I really can't give an opinion of Jasmine as I have never stayed there due to the negative reviews I have seen from fellow BM's.

                              • Hotels and their value are always going to be debatable and subjective to the preference of the individual.......

I'd prefer to stay away from most of the action but also have easy access to it within 5 minutes and the LK and the PBR are the best for that IMHO........and of course their attitude towards Joiners..........
