  • I stayed at Jasmine a couple of times in 2006, shortly after they opened. As a budget hotel then, it was good value, clean, good location, free wifi. Unfortunately it sounds the years have not been kind to the place without proper upkeep. When I first visited the room rate was very cheap, 500 Baht a night for the standard room. However, a nice room helps the atmosphere quite a bit, so if it has gone downhill, it should come off the recommended list.

One plus is that is very near to the Ezy Bar.

Tranquil solitude in Grand Hotel Pattaya......... a stones throw from Walking Street?

Well at least they have an imaginative ad agency!

I can't imagine they are anything unfriendly in that location, but I look forward to reading reports here.
Perhaps one of the BMs in Pattaya could check it out?
Nice pics on their website, might check it out within the next days...

      • stayed jasmine hotel last june. could not fault the place. went back again this june and could not believe how bad it had become. the restaurant/ club had closed and the rooms were so dirty. I survived one night then got out quick. I got the impression the place was ready to close.
We've got to get in to get out

The Penthouse is very guest friendly. Been around a long time now. It's an institution in Pattaya.

It's well within walking distance of everywhere and they even have their own ladyboy club too!

                    • (natabroad65 @ Jun. 09 2008,22:46) I stayed at the Sabai Inn on soi 2 for a few nights last night and it was totally fine for me. 'Fine for me' means no packs of shaven headed knuckle-dragging 'oi oi saveloy' shouting tatooed louts chasing up and down the corridors at 4am and especially no camel jockeys in attendence.

Rooms are spotlessly clean, modern, large and comfortable. The superior rooms go for 1000 bht a night and inlude a larger bathroom with Western size sit down bath, blitzing power shower etc. Plus you get kettle, tea coffee etc and an electronic room safe. No pool but that's fine by me. Plus my La Bamba LB seemed most pleased, although that sweet smile could have been down to the fact that I bought her out of the bar for three nights on the bounce of messing the sheets up with her DNA.
Sabai Inn sounds good. Does it have a car park? Too many of these hotels are for tourists who arrive by coach or taxi.

                      • Dynasty Inn group has a couple of hotels in Pattaya, and apparently they provide free transport from their Bkk hotels to the Pattaya ones if you prepay for at least 2 nights. Anyone used this service before?

Sounds like a good deal to me.
I know its so wrong, but it feels so right!

                        • Many many times...but only stayed at the Dynasty Inn Pattaya on Soi 13...The Dynasty Resort is way too far away from everything...

It's not a bad hotel and it's in a good location...but there are better for the same or less and there is also very inexpensive transportation
to and from Pattaya if you're trying to save a buck...You are also locked into their transportation schedule...It leaves BKK around 11 am
and leaves Pattaya around 1 pm or so, depending on traffic...

As I recall it's 500 baht extra for the return trip...

Think there's a car park, not sure, and you can use the pool at Sabai Lodge across the soi for free.

                            • Yep, as I recall there is a car park right next to the hotel toward 2nd road...it's not a bad
hotel...large standard rooms but a small bathroom and a bit dated...but overall not bad, I'd stay
                              there again...
