I'm off the PBR...I just spent two nights there...upon check in they demanded a 1000 baht deposit...so I reluctantly gave them a 1000 baht note (I was just there 2 weeks ago and they didn't require a deposit)...When I checked out I got received nine 100 baht notes and 5 twenty baht notes in a nice black money holder like the restaurants use suggesting that they would like a tip...For what?  Checking me in and out and handing me my key several times...

It's also a bit annoying that for a 7 floor hotel they have one elevator and it seems that I always get the room that you can't adjust the shower to the correct temperature...These I can forgive...But the suggestion at check out was a bit much...

For the price...1600 baht for a deluxe room...there might not be a better room for the baht, but at least I won't be intimidated to leave a tip...

Though even worse is:

A friend of mine stayed at a small guesthouse that also demands a deposit but is unavailable to give back the deposit if you leave after 8PM (though u have to pay for the room for that night).

My friend asked about it later and the owner told him that he gave it to the Staff.

I prefer situations where the tip is built into the price.

But my pet peeve is free breakfast that's not all day. A "free" breakfast is not free; you're somehow paying for it, and I don't like to adjust my schedule to the convenience of the hotel.

Siam Sawadee hotel......soi Bukaow........across the road from Pook Bar......750 baht a night.....ladyboy friendly, and no extra charge...even for a 3 some.

Advice is simple;
Keep in mind that any hotel 3 star and under in Pattaya, do not charge extra, are ladyboy friendly, and when you want a 3 some of any discription, the staff don't usualy bat an eye.

Go over 3 stars, and there is where the problems of extra charges come in.

Simply keep this in mind

I get confused which is which since there are so many Siam Sawadees but the one on Soi Diana near the Areca has 399 a night room for those who prefer the cheapest hotels.

There are 5 Sawadee hotels in Pattaya

The dearest is Siam;
The cheepest is that one in Soi Diana and Soi Honey which is the lowest rate.

And what ever its sign says....that is only for one night;

If your staying longer ...then haggle with them....because they have a hidden weekly rate and monthly rate...... you can get it at least 50 - 100 baht cheeper than what the sign says

Well at least they have an imaginative ad agency!

I can't imagine they are anything unfriendly in that location, but I look forward to reading reports here.
Perhaps one of the BMs in Pattaya could check it out?

Heading to Patts in October and sent Sandy Springs on soi 13 a quick question about "guest" fees and they responed promptly that day that they have a pollcy of NO guest fees so yes, they will be getting my business there!

Stayed for 15 nights, 9th floor superior room 1400Baht, nice room with an excellent view of the beach.
No extra charge for LB just needed to hand in ID.
Staff very friendly

Whats the current situation with jasmine hotel? Just read the last 15 pages, so nothing up to date. Reason i ask is, i read somewhere that the place is in desperate need of repair??? Could be bullshit, but i 'm thinking of booking a room october!

Went there with a fellow BM about 2 or 3 months ago...He booked the rooms based on the reports here...First, it's a pain in the ass to get to if walking street is closed for traffic...you have to go in the back way and walk through piles of trash and carry your luggage...We check in...he's on the 2nd floor and I'm on the third...no elevator...we go to our rooms...No sooner did I get the door open and walk in and close the door then there is a knock on the door...It's my mate...his words "Let's get the fuck outta here."...We had already paid for the night so we couldn't...I spent most of the night with a girl from JSB in her room...which was also a dump but at least she cleaned it every so often...
