Sounds like the Dynasty Grande is the place to stay. Anyone know if the 1800 rate will kick in and when? Website shows 2280, I thought April was the beginning of low season.

Hotels in BKK rarely have a high / low season price.

        What 1800 rate?

They had an introductory rate for 6 months before they were fully opened because there was construction work still going on, but not since

besides Omni Tower anyone know any hotels down Sukhumvit ( preferably close to Nana) that have a gym?

the only other one I can find is the Narai Hotel down Silom

Rembrandt Hotel on soi 18 has a nice gym, air conditioned also, unlike   The Omni Towers

Both have nice swimming pools just a few feet from their gyms also........ Omni is much closer to Nana but since you like exercise anyway you can walk to Nana from soi 18 in about 10-15 minutes, I do it quite often

DIG rooms are about same size as the Omni studio rooms, just newer and nicer......Omni is fine, but I have not stayed there once since DIG has opened

                  But, correct, no suites

Curious as to the groups opinion on the Royal Asia. I am looking for clean economy hotels or is Nana a better choice>

Anybody familiar with this place, can't get much closer to Guess Bar. I stayed there about 15 years ago and it was a dump - maybe it's improved?

Quick review of the Plaza Athenee in Bangkok. Stayed there for 8 nights, it's on Wireless Rd. about a 5 minutre walk to the Phoen Chit BTS station. Picked the Athenee because I have a lot of Strapoints to burn and got a very good deal because I made the reservation just before they jumped up in category. It is a GF hotel, no problems bringing guest back. The elevators do require a room key to operate so if you call a friend over you will have to meet them in the lobby. The rooms are a little old and worn, definitely in need of a renovation, the beds are hard as rock. I've stayed at the Westin Grande a few times and it is a much nicer hotel. The gym at the Westin is much nicer but I would say pool at the Athenee is better. If the Athenee updates their rooms (I heard they are in the process of doing this) it would be a decent value based on Starpoints. The Internet service at Athenee is a rip off, wired in the room for 650B/night, or wireless in the lobby and pool areas for 425B/hour. I uesd the wireless at Starbucks that's about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
