Stayed at DIG for 5 days and no problems. Quite reasonable prices as well. NEP 5 minutes away and Nana BTS even closer.

(DrPhil35 @ Sep. 19 2007,05:26) This may be a stupid question but the Dynasty Grande says it picks up from the airport at no extra cost. Are they reliable? Is it really free? What about getting back to the airport? In fact that was three stupid questions from an inumerate.
Last time I looked, a hotel car to the airport was 900 baht (or 700, can't remember)
They run a free minibus from the Dynasty hotels in BKK to the Dynasty hotels in Pattaya as long as you stay 2 nights at their hotels in Pattaya. Pattaya to BKK is 500 BahtMister Arse

I see the Dynasty Inn Grande or "DIG" as we like to call it, now has it's own dedicated website;
http://www.dynastygrande.com/
Also worth noting is that the room rate is set to rise commencing November 2007 from the current 2280 Baht up to 2680 Baht.
Cheers

This way you don't have to run the touts gauntlet as your driver will be waiting for you with your name on a piece of cardboard. I don't mind paying the extra money for a fast and painless ride after a 24 hours trip.
On your way back for your return flight take a taxi, not a limo. Should be about 300 baht or less and the driver will try to hustle you: they have never failed to do so on every trip I have ever taken to the airport Make sure the meter is on. Some hotel bellboys are in cahoots with the cabbies so even if you insist on the bellboy to instruct the driver to put on the meter or to get you a meter taxi only, they'll still try to nail you.
Only once did a limo driver fail to pick me up on arrival, and that was the Landmark Go figure...

I stayed at the DIG this month on two ocassions for 6 nights in total and will i definately be returning when i come back in december. The rooms are a decent size and very clean and the food is pretty decent as well. Never had any problem bringing any guests back to the room at whatever time of day or night but if you are planning on bringing more than one guest home you have to pay 500baht extra for the night.
I cant recommend this place highly enough so if you want a hotel close to all the action get yourself booked at the DIG.

Anyone stayed at the Unico Leela Hotel on Soi 3 recently?. Had a look on Bangkok1st.com and it seemed pretty good with rooms between 950 and 1400 baht a night. Has a pool, safes in the deluxe rooms and doesnt look like too far of a walk from Nana/Guess. Anybody know if it is guest/lb friendly?
Thinking about booking it unless some of you guys have any negative comments about the place. Cheers.Ladyboys forever

Even if they are not inclined to be LB friendly I am sure if you turn up with your little "piranha fish" and check her in they are not likely to raise any objections.
When Herself and I check in anywhere I usually give her my credit card to start the checkin proceedure while I park the car.
Only once was a hotel receptionist unwise enough to make a comment and luckily for them I got there before Herself acheived KILL mode
This was out in the country where they are more conservative. At least in Bangkok they have seen most things and are usually wise enough to keep their mouths shut.

yes, RR is right. If you check in with your lb companion, there is no issue of a guest fee or asking need to know if they are lb friendly. When I visited Pattaya Bay Resort at the end of July and again Oct. 13, I checked in with her - no problems whatsoever.
Enjoy your visit Dave!

Hello Benben,
I have not heard of this hotel before and looking at the website I found it looks like a new place.
It is (I suspect) close to the the klong (canal) near the top of Soi 3.
That would put it about 1.5 kilometers from Nana Plaza and the Guess bar.
If you don't mind walking this distance - no problem. A taxi will cost you 35 Baht - about $0.90 US.
The downside would be trying to get back to the hotel as Soi 3 is one way.
I'm not sure what the shortest way from Nana would be but I suspect it would be via Soi 11 and would be about 70 Baht.
