Dynasty Grande must be getting busy - on the website they said they would have the Promo rates until October. I just emailed them for 4 nights in Sept and they said no to the 1,800 rate. Must pay the 2280 rate. Also, offered Deluxe suite for 2680.

Just got back from staying at DG and yes, they are very busy and running at almost full capacity. I checked out for a few days when I went upcountry and they made me prepay for 1 nights stay as a guarantee I would come back. Anyways, even at 2280 rate its still a good value. Very close to Nana, large clean rooms, and friendly hotel staff. Some things to note are that the gym just opened last week, the pool is actually a decent size, and the free wifi is pretty fast.

Just spent four days in the Davis.

There are 2 separate buildings - The main Hotel which is a definite 5 star and The Corner Wing which is a good 4xxxx.

We stayed in The corner wing. The bedrooms are nice -very well appointed and a good size, the only downside is the cable only has 10 channels.

If you are planning on taking company back i guess its pretty difficult. The first night we were accosted by 3 security staff all of whom asked for our room, even though my companion was registered to the room. We made a complaint the next day and were not bothered again.

Prices for food/beverage/ room service are normal for this standard of hotel.
Conclusion : great hotel, away from the Nana action and i would probably not stay there again for this reason.

I am planning on going to LOS on November 17th. From everything said, seems like the list comes down to Majestic Grande, Majestic Suites, Omni Tower, and Dynasty Grande. All seem pretty good, take the lowest priced one? Also, does anyone know how to arrange golf before going there without buying a package with the hotel?

Majestic suites is by far the worse of these hotels, closely followed by the Omni. Dynasty Grande would be next and the best is the Majestic Grande. Pricing will probably follow this patern as well. Personally I reckon the Majestic Grande is too expensive for what it is in comparison with the Dynasty Grande and it tends to be aimed more at the family holiday market. The Dynasty Grande is a high end whoremongers hotel - rare to see kids, always see plenty of hookers. Majestic Suites is low end product compared to the Dynasty Grande and Majestic Grande in converted shophouse basically. Adequate but not exactly prestigious LOL.

Looks like the Dynasty Grande is a much better hotel & value than the Majestic Suites' best rooms @ 1950/night

No worries mate.

I like Majestic Grande but anything above the Grande Superior room is probably not worth the price. Service is good though and extremely guest friendly.

you're right, I had the grande premier for 2900, and their breakfast buffet is very good ... sets one up for the entire day

I also like the Majestic Grande, but the biggest annoyance for me and maybe it was just the room I got, was that if someone opened the door - they looked straight at the bed from the open doorway. There is no excuse for that in a modern purpose built hotel and it peeved me of no end when housekeeping barged into the room when I was in bed with my squeeze LOL - I had forgotten to put the do not disturb sign on.

I think it was the room you were in mardhi ... mine was really nice and the bed was hiding "behind" the bathroom so when the door was open, you only see the tv, desk & windows (and a small piece of the foot of the bed - which is of no consequence, unless your lb has huge feet).

another annoyance was the fire escape. I was on the 8th floor and the restaurant on the 7th, so i decided to take the stairs down one flight and when walking down, smashed my head against the bottom of the stairs above me ... ouch!!! - no head room... and this is a fire escape?

if ya had to use it for real, all of us farangs will be passed out cold on the stairs and the thai nationals will be jumping over us, and our lb friends with their high heels ... to get out ...

I plan to go to BKK on late October. i usually go to the Grand Inn, but last time I was at the Dysnasty inn. I was not really convinced, It is too close to the action to me.
Any comments on the Majestic Suites compare to the ones mentioned above?
I read it is a low class but for one night I do not care that much, I just want something clean, quiet and LB friendly. Do they charge extra if you bring back two guests (LB's)?

 Book a double-deluxe at 1950 baht and you cant go wrong.

No problem taking 2 girls back, in fact the staff would not bat an eyelid if you brought a horse back with you  and it will not cost you extra plus the bed is big enough for you to be nice and cosy    

Also has electronic in-room safe and door locks and of more importance to me coffee and tea facilities in the room
