As far as I am concerned are the salaries of the ladies directly connected to an amount of barfines every lady has generate. So with every barfine that she is below target the salary gets  
decreased.

So a salary of 3 or 4 k a month per lady is easy to win back if the girl looks only half decent ;-) We are not talking about top salaries (10-12k for a dancer) other bars pay in LOS!!! The bar gets for sure 300 of the 400 so an easy calculation. Sexy girls leave faster but then maybe the punters have to come earlier if they want someone special.

So where is the big loss if a lady leaves, the barfines pay easy for the salary over the month.

So its revenue that counts (if there is a minimum consumption) what is fair enough if the owners think it helps there figures.

So call a spade a spade.....

i see all sides to this argument i can see the bar owners he has to think of revenue and not just guys treating it as a pickup joint in other words a beergarden,fair enough as its not your standard bar,but say i dont drink much or dont want to sure i can just buy ladydrinks to bump to the 500 baht effectively bumping up my barfine to 900 baht !but say i wanna go there most nights over a week...............i end up spending a lot more on drinkies than i do for myself...a lot more ,and im the one on holiday?
not sure what the best way around this one is,mayby increase barfine to 650? mayby slight increase in drink prices? 100 baht entrance fee?

dunno, i myself wont have a problem with this 500 amount as i wouldnt want to be in there everynight and a couple drinks for myself and ladydrinks will soon get the 500 mark but i will say that anymore than 500 and a visit to C&D would not be a regular thing.
as i say the 500 may be a reasonable figure for a bar such as C&D anymore then i may as well go to feckin Soho and let £20 notes fall out of my pocket then go home and have a wank because im skint

Having just spent 4 nights in Patong and visiting C&D's every night, I can not praise the place and it's well trained staff high enough.

Policies like this one have helped to ensure that the talent available to us mongers even after midnight remains fairly consistent & presumably that is the objective.

Well... Back here in Switzerland, we are used to the fact that policies apply to everyone, especially to the best customers, so that the bar can be proud of not giving preferential treatment to anyone (yes, many swiss are proud of that).

So, many swiss will expect policies to be applied, especially if they have been put into writing and pinned!!!

So i can understand that this stirs some blood.


But as you rightly said, wait until this gets actually enforced against anyone "normal".

Most of my bins are above 500 baht, but some were below.

Especially the days I didn't even set foot in the bar, because of long long times!


Certainly, onyone feeling really wronged (not just in theory...) by that policy has the right to post it in the forum.

I did the math, and in U.S. currency 500 baht = $14.70 if you calculate it at 34 bath per U.S. dollar.

In the U.S., and I'm pretty sure in most of Western Europe as well, that's about the equivalent of two drinks, not including tip (for U.S. only) at a mid to down market place, nothing fancy.

Think about what you're getting for that $14.70; access to some of the most beautiful and sexually alluring creatures who will enthusiastically fuck your sorry, old, drunk ass for about one quarter the cost of a "regular date" in the West.

Presumably its in the market range otherwise nobody would work there given that finding staff for anyplace is difficult enough in Thailand.

Lets face it - a bar salary is probably just about enough to pay the monthly rent in most staff minds - given its paid about the same time as the rent is due The real earnings come from other income streams for other "services" which will likely be 6-10 times the monthly salary just to turn up into a bar.
