My question was quite clear Jimbo. A "visit fee" is spending in your bar. You have to pay it to leave with a girl. The earlier question is below.
Jimbo, as this is a recent policy change what was the percentage of walk in punters who brought NO drinks, but merely barfined and walked out? With the sophisticated billing system you have there, you could pull that info in less than one minute...
I'm in there drinking more than barfining; is this gonna stop me gong in- I think not I agree with some of the above comments that I wouldn't want to be told how much to drink in an establishment either. Maybe a sliding scale of barfines is a solution, lots of places do it. On the other hand Jimbo's business isn't mine to conduct! Makye it could be presented a bit more diplomatically would be my 2 cents worth ( but I am a Cheap Charlie!!)
There has to be give and take and in reality there probably is- having consumed 10 drinks elsewhere over the course of an evening ( because you're on holiday and like a wander) do ya wanna have to force down another 3 or 4 before devoting yourself to tilak- God Bless Viagra!!
I couldn't give a shit how long it is until you're next holiday- I live here
Jimbo has a good point here........ and WTF is 500 baht ....2 drinks each for you and the talent you are chatting too. The bar has to be supported first....... no bar no meeting point to pick up your reliable talent.
Jimbo has to pay their monthly salary, that's where the bar-fine comes in, and doesn't make the bar owner any richer. 9 times out of 10 in low season, she might have only a few off's, which may not cover her salary, so the bar owner has to make up the difference from the revenue from the drinks sold.
It would amaze you about the unwritten rules in a lot of bars, with no signs publicizing the facts.
I have a mate that owns a bar in Pattaya, who gives strict instructions to his staff that a customer must buy a couple of drinks before paying the bar....... not only that he instructed them if the punter wanted more than one night, they may not come alone to pay the bar the next night, but had to bring the customer with them, so he is able to sell a couple of drinks into the bargain.... if she cant then a deduction comes out of her salary. Remember the next time she asks "You go my bar tonight"
(jimbo34 @ Dec. 23 2009,16:57) Toorot: answer is none.
Ivor (and anybody else) 500Bt = 2 beers + 2 Ladydrinks! I ain't about to be diplomatic about that
I'm not disputing the amount,(we both know it's insignificant at the end of the day) just that the sign in it's present form would get some people's backs up. If I walked into a bar in Patts and saw a sign like that I'd turn around and walk out to be honest. I'm not trying to fall out with you, just trying to give a neutral opinion. I'm not sure what the fluffier version could be  though
Now here's a suggesion- line up 5 guys with 5 drinks on one side of the bar, Donut on the other. Donut takes off one item of clothing, first to the post gets it, and so on for 5 drinks. First guy with 5 bits of kit gets her barfine and disappears, last across the line pay's Jimbo's barfine, now there's an incentive Â

"Not every punter for a variety of very good reasons wants a belly full of drinks before a "Bar fine". Many girls don't want a pissed parrot for a punter either. If you go and barfine a short time *early* in the evening you are in a no win with the new C&D policy. So if you come back to the bar after an hour or two happy visiting, do you get "free drinks" to the value of the 500Bhat drink tickets you purchased earlier??
So what was that "no drink %" Jimbo??"
2 simple questions that J-bo spends more time dancing around than answering.
So far, the answer seems to kinda cut through the usual bullshit "The purpose of the barfine is to compensate the bar for lost ... blah blah blah".
If she goes back 1-2 hours later, you really haven't "lost" anything now, have you?
Why not just be a man and admit that you're trying to squeeze as much money as possible from every customer of your, I'm sure, world-class, room-less brothel? You're a capitalist, a businessman, nothin' wrong with that. Just stop trying to put lipstick on a pig.
Jimbo...cant you change the rule so that the costumer would only be alloved to spend the 500.....that would certanly save me some money...
naaah...joke aside...after what iwe seen regardings BM`s this rule would never be affected...why?? cause they all stay there longer and loves to chat...
my best guess is that the rules are to people like "the snake" and others that just benefit from the bars effort...and dont make ANY contributions.....
and i rather prefer an "open" sign...than a girl with a hidden agenda, that might give me an lousy service if i fails to fullfill her qouta...
all the ladyboys i know laughs when we have sex.....no matter what book they read

Plenty of bars not charging a 900 baht BF and not going broke. Perhaps there are some successful alternative business models out there. And, "... and WTF is 500 baht" works both ways.
What would amaze me would be girl not having a BF quota, against which wages would be docked if she did not meet it AND which would more than cover her salary if she did.
How about naming your friend's Pattaya bar so we can all give him the support he deserves? Maybe he should invest in some shock collars to make sure that his girls don't stray off to Samui or somewhere for a couple of days.
