Surely not a problem for you, Ozzie? Your bin was always way in excess of that. And why should your choice of girls be reduced by some berk walking away with all the dollies.

The main reason a bar has attractive girls on show, is to attract customers! If they're all gone without anybody buying a drink, who will be attracted into the bar. And where will the girls , and the punters for that matter, go when the bar has to shut through lack of business?

Rest assured, when I arrive in Phuket on the 7th of January after a few weeks in Pattaya, there will be no problems with me spending 500 Baht on drinks. Looking at the talent in the bar I will be buying at least 5 of the lady drinks as soon as I walk in the door.

I can see both sides of the coin and we all know all rules are for the guidance of people with imagination and for idiots to adhere to!! Of course there is room for manouever and i can't see this policy greatly affecting the place (if at all). To some people it will seem to be a B900 barfine but that's just a silly interpretation. Maybe a compromise is a 2 drink minimum on the sign, a bit less dramatic than 'spend 500B' - it would smooth the way a bit psycologically. The present wording just seems a bit too blunt in my humble opinion, and that's where offence may be taken. PERONALLY I couldn't care less

I tend to roam around having a couple of drinks here and a couple of drinks there, but it's a diffferent scenario for me than someone on holiday. if i've been out and about only to return and find the prospective paramour for the night is otherwise engaged I just wait for the next opportunity.  3-4 drinks and at least one lady drink and you've hit the minimum anyway- it's no big deal. Make sure you drink fast though in case some other punter is 3 drinks ahead of you and about to make his mind up  

A friend of mine runs a popular go-go in Pattaya where it snows on Xmas Day- one year he had no staff by 10pm as all the ladies had been B/F ( even the ugly one!!) He wacked the B/F up to B6k for New Years and the next holiday season up il midnite and guys were still paying it! It's supply and demand as Jimbo says- no staff = no punters=no profit=no business (=no photos!!!!!).

If you read back through the forum I have made suggestions about just about every bar in Thailand so I am not singling yours out just so happens is I was there recently.

My specific beef with this is that it is just condescending. Maybe it is the wording I don't know but it comes across as a bit elitist or something.

What you will find is that the guys who would not normally spend 500 baht still wont and will find ways around the bar fine anyway.

C&D is a really nice bar and some nice ladies there, but best in LOS or even BEST IN THE WORLD?
I have not seen every ladyboy bar in the world but quite a few in LOS and so I would say this is a little bit exaggerated  ;-)

Regarding the minimum consumption

Another approach to make customer spend money, others charge higher barfines, why not. Every bar has to survive in some way.
I think somebody who likes to spend time in a good bar, is a friend of the owner or is really interested in the ladyboys working there will spend money anyway, will enjoy the atmosphere  and will have a good time. They will not be hit by this rule. The one that hides around the corner with the famous water bottle....bad luck for him.

Its just interesting that there are many bars in LOS that pay much higher salaries for the ladies then C&D and can survive without such rules.

It's a perfectly reasonable question Ozzie has raised.  What is a "Visit fee" actually for?

C&D has been in operation for a very long time.

Early evening short time, and your staff are likely back on board in an hour or two, probably with "friend" in tow for a celebratory drink or two.

C&D "Visit fee" is now 900Bt. That is the only reasonable interpretation.  If this was Nana or Walking street I could hear the howls from here.  

Jimbo, as this is a recent policy change what was the percentage of walk in punters who brought NO drinks, but merely barfined and walked out? With the sophisticated billing system you have there, you could pull that info in less than one minute...  Whether you care to divulge it is another matter.

Ozzie is right, i often walk into a bar and walk round see the girl,i want and walk off with her in toe,400-600 lighter in the pocket. Im not a cheap cunt , but im not going to be told how much i have to drink before i can take a girl from the bar,and as a person that goes to jombos bar once a year i would not be considered a local.
Torurot is also right a guy walks in needs a fuck in a cabaret bar(non brothel lmao) walks in creams of a babe because he's smart, and she will be back in the bar in 2 hours. whats the big deal

I'm playing Devils advocate for all so called "cheap Charlies" out there cowering in the corner cause if they speak up, the spend till you drop crowd will stomp em. Ozzie, you know who you are....

Not every punter for a variety of very good reasons wants a belly full of drinks before a "Bar fine". Many girls don't want a pissed parrot for a punter either. If you go and barfine a short time *early* in the evening you are in a no win with the new C&D policy. So if you come back to the bar after an hour or two happy visiting, do you get "free drinks" to the value of the 500Bhat drink tickets you purchased earlier??

So what was that "no drink %" Jimbo??
