I just seen a couple of years ago for the first time. It's not a bad movie, worth seeing, but didn't live up to it's reputation IMO.
Rebel Without a Cause: if you were enjoying ovulation in the 50's you will enjoy it. Now it seems dated and prissy. Sorry.
That's my impression from the little I've seen. Would still be interesting to see Jimmy Dean. Speaking of prissy, I heard he was in the closet
Don't get folks confused on James Dean vs Jimmy Dean. James never referred to himself as Jimmy that I ever heard, though some friends may have, and the country singer/sausage guy was always Jimmy.
When I see the name written as Jimmy Dean, I never think of the actor, personally. I think Jimmy Dean Pure Pork Sausage.
Most reports and bios say James was gay or bi, but really, nobody here has any room to snicker about it. I'd guess the majority of the forum members are closeted (from their family) cocksuckers and/or butt pirates.
Rebel Without a Cause, while not the great movie I expected it to be, is still worth watching if one has the opportunity. Just to see a young hot Natalie Wood, an all time favorite actor like Dennis Hopper when he was just 19 yrs old, and Thurston Howell III/voice of Mr Magoo as James Dean's father.

(TTChang @ Jun. 06 2010,14:37) Soon after I first met Kahuna in Bangkok, he gave up on any conversations with me about movies. 'Haven't you seen ANY fucking movies at all?' Fair comment!!!
So I won't bore you by listing the many I've not seen. Just to say ..... I saw 'Sound of Music' when I was young, and am still suffering the trauma Does that explain something?
Better go find Forrest Gump now!
I agree, you won't find many people as well versed and knowledgeable on a vast array of movies, like kahuna is. I've found in the past that a good gauge to know whether a movie is worth watching is first check with kahuna. If he says it's good, great, mediocre, whatever, he is right 98% of the time. When Gene Siskel kicked off and Roger Ebert needed a new partner, he'd have been better off making the show Ebert & Kahuna, than he is with whomever he has with him now.

Jimmy Dean has been married twice, has 3 kids and some grand kids. Maybe he is a closet pole smoker too, but I don't know and I don't care. I'm not one to dwell needlessly on the sexual orientation of people, especially those I have no personal connection with. Who one sleeps with does not define them IMO.

I've never heard of your friend Pierre, but you are correct on Tiger and Bill. Too many stupidly dwell on their sex lives. So, to some fools out there, the sex lives of celebrities is the first thought they have of them.

(Lefty @ Jun. 06 2010,16:59) If he says it's good, great, mediocre, whatever, he is right 98% of the time.
You mean his *opinion* of whether HE thinks it is good or bad is right 98% of the time....actually it would be 100% of the time.....but that doesn't mean *I* would like it or you would like it, it just means HE liked it, or hated it, etc....
KH may suggest a movie he thinks is great and I may absolutely hate it, and vice versa. Same as you and me and everyone in the world, what we like is very subjective and the person next in line may not like it just because we did. I think the debate about Sandler and Ferrell movies proved that, no? How many people loved Titanic or Avatar, Star Trek part 38, Star Wars ....while many of us would say they suck ass?
Rotten Tomatoes is a good website to get a good feel for movies, because they will get the reviews of anywhere from 20 to 100 film critics and give a percentage or who thought it was good or bad, etc.... many times I have debated seeing a movie and then gone to that site and seen that only 35% of the people polled liked it, read a few reviews and skipped that movie; saving a few bucks and 2 or 3 hours of my life. Converesly, a movie like Inglourious Basterds got about a 95% rating up there so you'd have to almost believe that hands down.
Any movie that can get, say, a 75% or above agreements from people saying it was good, and they do movie critiquing for a living, is probably worth seeing IMO.
Ok, Mr Persnickity, I should have said he is right 98% of the time IMO.
Happy now?
