Michigan State carrying the torch for the Big 10 defeated last years National champion to advance to the elite 8 and a date with Louisville who blew out 12 seed Arizona.

Syracuse who finished 6th in the mighty Big East missed their 1st 9 three point attempts. Blake Griffen put up 30 on the Orange as Oklahoma advanced to play top seeded North Carolina who destroyed Gonzaga. Regional championships begin Saturday and conclude Sunday when the tourney field is reduced to four.

An epic battle between two Big East powers was won at the charity stripe, by Villanova who hit 22 out of 23 free throws. the game had it all, 15 lead changes and 10 times the score was tied. After the buzzer, time was even put back on the clock and with a half second left Pittsburghs Lavance Fields launched a 65 footer that hit the backboard and fell to the floor.

The Wildcats advanced to the final 4 for the first time since their improbale run of 1985 when they beat a haevily favoured Georgetown team with Patrick Ewing in the final. Pittsburgh became the first number 1 seed to lose a tag that many expected connecticut to wear, but the Big East power beat Missouri to join conference foe Villanova in the final 4.

"Whining Michigan fan" Such is the mantra of lower class schools that can't compete scholastically, athletically, or socially..........not surprising but yes rather "boaring"

and once your complete lack of college athletics is pretty predictable........the Michigan college hockey program like the Michigan college football program sets the benchmark in wins, winning percentage and national championships and is actually considered the # 2 most followed program by fans of the schools athletics. Also Michigan "split" with Duke and didn't beat them twice......so I would suggest that "bone"   up on your facts before you try and bring it so to speak. Don't try and run with the big dogs with 3 legs.

You are a micro-cosm of Michigan fan. Always talking smack, looking at everything through your blue and yellow glasses. Its always hard for you to swallow anything that M-State accomplishes like 5 final fours in 14 years. I guess this one won will have you talking hockey again.

For those of you who didn't know what Michigan fan was like, Sumettleydfs is it. I choose to rub it in on you because like any self absorbed Michigan fan you had to play the ancient history card.

I really liked your comments how other schools couldn't compete scolastically and socially with Michigan. How do they measure socially, is it how much beer you can drink? or in your case how many bongs you can suck down? Comments like that make me think you didn't even attend the school, but just support them as if you did. Academics? Ya, right Michigan leads the way...they make the rest of the Big 10 look like the Ivy League.

Enjoy watching 2nd favorite team (whoever plays Michigan State) the rest of the tournament. If its M-States succes is too much to watch you can always throw in an old VHS tape of Michigan football. You know the ones, back in the Bo Schembechler days.

North Carolina made it to the final 4 for the 2nd year in a row ending Oklahomas run. The win was the 100th tourney win for the Tarheels and marked their 18th trip to the final four.

OU's Blake Griffen ends his tourney as the leading scorer and rebounder, will most likely leave OU early for the big payday of the NBA.

UNC will be heavily favored to win with Louisville out of picture and lower seed Villanova up next. Nova made Pittsburgh the first number one seed to fall.

Many including myself thought UCONN would be the 1st number to go down. A Missouri upset of 2 seed Memphis made UCONN's run to motown an east one.

Michigan State will have to take down its 2nd Big East 1 seed in a row if they want to make it to the NCAA championship game.

Michigan State was the class of the Big 10 conference and represented well in its run to the final 4 while the other 6 teams were dissappointing with the exception of Purdue and a Wisconson upset of Florida State.

I like Villanova, but think UNC is just to good for them, however Villanova's tough Big East schedule in the regular season is paying off at tournament time.

To paraphrase the Wizard of Oz; Pay no attention to that guy behind the curtain.  That's just ESPN and CBS sports commentators rumor mongoring again.    

Even if he decides to leave MSU, he's gonna want to go out a winner.  UM only lost to UConn by 6 or 7 so we should be able to get past them. So unless MSU can get past UNC in the NC game I don't think he'll be leaving this year.    I know UM fans would love to see him leave. But if he does you'll probably see a lot of this   on the MSU campus.

And you gotta admit, UNC looks invinceable right now. Even if Lawson's toe should sideline him for the game I think UNC has too much firepower for MSU. Kalin Lucas is good, but he's not Mateen Cleaves.

You can rest easy tigerxxx... Looks like Calipari is escaping Confrence USA hell and taking the plunge ino the blue mist at a cool 6.7 mil a year!!!! As a diehard M fan I have no problem with Izzo anymore now that we finally have a coach who is capable of recruiting to his style and can coach his way out of a paperbag,.....Don't focus on the M-UConn game too much in the same vein as NC clobbering spartina at Ford in November regular season is a lot different and Calhoun can coach.

I hate to dissapoint you mate, but they play each other in the semi-final. This is typical of your illogical posts that usually never offer a perspective or insight.

Perhaps you could do us all a favour before your next posting binge. Write each post out on a piece of paper, reread it, then wait 10 minutes. If you still think it sounds interesting and has something to offer then post it.

For example you could have told us who you thought was going to win the Nove UNC game. I know your not used to typing anything longer than a sentence, but you could have predicted the other game too just for shits and giggles. Then if you were really motivated you could have picked an overall winner.

This is what everybody who actually entered the March Madness contest did before the tourney actually began.

Now I'm going to go off and read the other 7 one sentence posts you have made in the last 10 minutes. I play a little contest with them just to make your posts fun to read. Todays is guess how many icons you average per post. I putting the line at three.
