Louisvilles path just got smoother when Sienna dropped OSU. Louisville should cruise in that game and play the winner of #12 Arizona and #13 Cleveland State both upset winners

        (Boarhog @ Mar. 20 2009,04:55) Yes smutty,
Enjoy the win because Saturday the party is over for the Wolverines as they join the other Big 10 failures.
Oklahoma is awesome and have a future NBA player in Blake Griffen.

Their bench will look like Clemsons bench in this bottom picture in the final 4 minutes.

Any predictions on the 1st number one seed to fall?
        Connecticut is my call.
Gee that "Big Ten" does suck doesn't it?
4-3 in the first round including a 12 over a 5 and a 10 over a 7?? and an 8 losing to a 9 in probably the worst officiated game thus far in the tournament and believe me as much as I despise the O$U Suckeyes I am not showing any Big Ten biases. Plus 2-0 against the Dick Vitale ACC.

Honestly I could give a shit less about any other Big Ten school, I only care about Michigan, but if you were to do a little research I think you will find that the Big Ten has more NCAA championships and final fours spread out through the confrence then any others considering the ACC is dominated by Duke and NC, the SEC by Kentucky and the Pac Ten by UCLA. The Big Ten has national champions from Wisconsin,Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St. and Indiana and every team except Northwestern and Penn St who has only been in the confrence since '93 has been in the final four at least once

As far as M goes considering they are in year 2 of a rebuilding program and returned to the Dance after an 11 year absence and all this is after a 10-22 record last year. And lets also consider they start 2 freshmen, 1 sophomore, 1 junior and a former walk on senior and considering they were projected as an outside chance for an NIT bid by even the most outlandish predictions I think they have over achieved. The win Friday now puts them at 42-19 in the tournament and 55-23 when vacated games are included. The 42 Ws puts them in 13th place all time and the 55 puts them at 9th. 1 championship, 4 seconds, and 1 3rd in 6 final fours.........3 NIT Championships and 1 runner up...........not a bad resume.........

So continue to bash the Big Ten(11) and you makes you as naive as Dick (I want to suck Coach K's penis) Vitale and Digger ( I was 0-5 against Michigan including my swan song in the 84 NIT championship) Phelps..............

Spoken like a true Michigan fan. I'm a big 10 fan, and an Illinni, but I call it like I see the conference for what it is now. Weak! Noy for what Big 10 has done in the past or what they will be like next year or in 2 years.

Like I said before Michigan State is the class of the conference this season, I have them advancing to final 4, however I see Wisconson who had a great win 1st round going down against Xavier and Purdue losing to Washington ot of the Pac 10.

You still count that title and wins the NCAA took away from Michigan?

Northwestern shouldn't even be in the Big 10, Even with such high academic standards which puts them at a huge disadvantage in recruiting, they were still competitive and perhaps a win away from making big dance. I'm not a fan of the Big conferences that get 6-7 spots year in year out. Especially when they load the front of their schedule with home games and playing cupcakes. Then they go 9-9 inconference play and make the tourney, like Michigan and Minnesota.

Blake Griffen will exploit that young Michigan team and have them waiting till next year. While Michigans youth movement will still be rebuilding Griffen a sophmore will be in the NBA.
Good luck with that double team of him, he will get Mich in foul trouble early.

Sweet 16 here come the Griffen brothers Smuttley.

              Cupcakes?

Duke twice....UCLA, Maryland, and UConn are all cupcakes???

Your'e really kind of new at this aren't you

Yes with the assistance of playing 5 on 8 Oklahoma has advanced..........its really pretty sad when you're already 6'10" and weigh 500 pounds that the officials let you get away with murder if that continues my pick of boomer sooner will be right on

All in all it was a very fulfilling season for the Big Blue and the Hockey team will be a number one seed for the frozen four and Louie Caparuso is going to win give M back to back hockey heismans with another Hobey Baker award

Where are the Illini playing today in......anything Boaring?

New to this? Ok basketball guru.

I'm no stranger to the whining Michigan fan. Playing the ref's card. not even original these lean days. The Illini are at home watching the tourney just like Michigan now. I know they suck and you won't hear me talking about their womens volleyball program.

Michigan fan talking about hockey? Thats when you know the football program is really struggling. Its good that you were fulfilled by a .500 conference season. I guess those 2 wins over Duke made it complete for you. It couldn't have been finishing 6th behind Illinois in the mighty Big 10!

You said you were in before it started Doc? Never saw any picks from you until today.

Didn't see your picks until Nova and Memphis. Can't really claim you called if they do come in when the tourney is in its 3rd day?

Oklahoma will face tougher tests than Michigan to get to the big dance. Surging Syracuse (if they win today)and 1 seed North Carolina stand in their way.

Big 10's Purdue took out Washington from the Pac 10 with a strong defensive effort.

Michigan State will try to bring some respect to state of Michigan and the Big 10 when they take on USC for a ticket to the sweet 16.

Wisconson has their hands full with the X-men from Xavier, one of three remaining Big 10 teams.

Used to be into college hoops big time but not any more. Will probably watch some only in passing today. The point I would like to make is WHERE ARE THE UPSET?? The last couple of tournys there has been WAAAAAY too much chalk for my liking.

As Bill Murray said in CADDYSHACK, "Cinderella stooooory!"

                        BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!

The upsets are in the 5 seed versus 12 seed games with three out of four 12 seeds winning. One of those 12 seeds (Arizona) plays 13 seed Cleveland State who down a 4 seed in Wake Forest who I believe PigDogg had in his final 4.

Three 10 seeds won (USC, Michigan and Maryland) all beating 7 seeds. Dayton a 11 seed beat 6th seeded West Virginia.

Your Cinderella Story is the winner of Cleveland State and Arizona. One will go to the Sweet 16 to play the tourneys top seed Louisville. Then the clock strikes 12 for Cinderella and she has to go home.

I think one of those 12 seeds was actually a FAV over the 5 could be mistaken though. It just seems there are less big upsets the last few years. Have to defer to my brother who watches this a lot closer than I do as he has a fiduciary interest in all the comings and goings of March Madness! LOVE to see more upsets though!!!

You might see Marquette a 6 take out Mizzou a 3 today! Dominic James their star guard who broke his foot Feb 24th and had surgery has been cleared to play. How much he contributes remains to be seen, however they were a hard team to beat with him.

If they get by Mizzou they earn a date with #2 Memphis and could provide another upset.

None of the 12 seeds were favored over the 5 seeds by Vegas odds, however some of the 10's were over 7 seeds. The Vegas line is controlled by money bet on each side of the line, so teams with huge sentimental followings usually get overbet and drive a team to be favoured when they are seeded lower because of actual performance.
