 there are some Thai communities in the UK that are reasonbly happy, a friend of mine has a Thai girlfriend & is very "thick" with them in Yorkshire. We are actually "importing" them to be nurses along with the Philippino's. They make there own food & have specific Thai resteraunts they go to when they eat out.

Whenever i have been there & enjoyed there company they are all seemingly happy enough, a little homesick but they all earn enough to visit the LOS every year.

I honestly do not see any reason why you & Kai should not make a go of it in the UK. Apart from my own rather cynical view of "bar girl" relationships, but thats been a product of visiting & living in Asia on & off for the last 28years. There have to be exceptions & i truly wish you both the best of luck & happyness. I think Kai is a lovely LB, you are a lucky bloke.

I had not heard that, but its easy to understand, they were getting the nurses on the cheap from Asia & i wondered how long the western nurses in the system would put up with imported cheap labour.

Pity the aggricultural industry isn't taking the same stance.
