True, I have to admit I give the guy some credit for trying to bring a working girl out of the game. I'm sure he knows what he's up against, and if he doesn't, then more than one member of the forum has been kind enough to tell him.

However I always have to ask myself - why is it when ex-bargirls supposedly leave the scene to live happily ever after we only here this news from the husband-to-be? Wouldn't you think that this sort of news would come from the girl? Maybe she wouldn't post it on the forum, but it seems that quite a few board members are familiar enough with Ex and probably her posse of friends that word from her would have gotten around. Not trying to be negative here, just posting an observation of mine.

There is a definite synical tone to the replies on this thread. Yet interesting as I am heading down a similar route with Kai.

Although neither of us have definitely said yes to marriage we are heading in that direction, we have applied for a UK settlement visa for Kai  and whilst I will be genuinely surprised if Kai adjusts to and likes living here in Scotland (the weather, the food, the people)  at least we will be able to see if we can live together in a "normal"  every day way rather than being on Holiday staying in a hotel.

Now I know I'm hard to live with, I've aready tried marriage once and failed, so I am under no illusion that it's  going to be a walk in the park and that change is going to be required on both sides. The question is are we both prepared to change sufficiently to make our relationship work.

But IF this works out okay for the both of us then a civil partnership is on the cards probably followed by us moving to LOS or at least somewhere in SE Asia.

What will she do all day while you are at work?

how will she cope with the weather?

what will she eat?

I just believe it would make it a whole lot easier for you to move there, than the other way round. Obviously, i guess, financial commitments will stand in the way of this. I just think that it makes a difficult job a lot harder.

My opinion is that these LB's only work in a bar because the money is so much better then they could earn anywhere else. Hell, I get burnt out from the bar scene after 1 week, can't imagine anyone wanting to do this as a job year after year if alternatives are available. If this Mark guy is really in his 50's he better be offering Ex a nice weekly allowance and security blanket if he expects to keep her around. At that age difference forget love, it's all about the money!
