Hey Flynn, your first stop should be Cocktaols and dreams. Areeya's not there anymore, but this bar will provide n excellent home base. Speak to Nick or Don or the mamasan tp point you to girls that are yopur type.
Hi folks
I´ll also visit Phuket for 4-5 days for the first time during my stay in LOS in August.
Anybody who can tell me about the transportation alternatives from and to airport to hotel in Patong i.e. the Rendezvous Guest House which PigDogg recommends.
Costs, time etc.
Tks in advance
Any good ideas for a hotel in patong area where I can take a sweetie (or 2) without hustle during my october holiday ?
Send mail before to the people from KohJoy (Cocktail & Dreams) -
but no answer....
I highly recomend the Rendezvous. It's right across the soi from the Koh Joy apartments. No guest hassles. I looked at about 10 places in Phuket and this was the most cost effective. Gay owned but not a gay vibe, you really don't see much of the other guests.

Looks like I'll be getting there right after you leave. Staying same hotel I think. If you get a chance, post here how you liked it and who's hot right NOW at C&D! ;-)
Henry I'll be in Phuket from the 13th to the 15th of October. Travelling alone so if you would like to catch up and have a singha and check out the lady boy scene that would be great. I will probably be at cocktails and dreams on the night of the 13th of October.
[B] I now stay at the SunHill on all my visits to Phuket / Patong Beach, it seems abit off the LB / GG friendly map, & seems to get very little mention, ( or I have missed it! ) well check out there website I reckon its almost ideal. Its out of town just enough to be quiet, it s a very nice clean place, rooms are a good size, its western owned & run with thai staff of course. Resteraunts not too bad either. Out of season prices are very reasonable. it has a nice little swimming pool. I personally have taken loads of LB's there 4 at a time once! No -one battered an eyelid ( except the room maid! )
If you stay over the road from the recieption you come & go as you please hardly anyone sees you come in & with what so thats even better. They even have there own moped rentals daily, weekly whatever you want.
There is a drawback............ its a 20 minute walk from the sea, & about 25-30 mins from Bangla road. However there are usually motorbike taxis hanging around outside, 20-40baht to bangla. Its a bit of a lottery coming back tho' at 0200-0400hrs in the morning you might have to pay a whole 100baht if you don't want to haggle, but i can usually get them down to 50 in the end.
They are pretty good on email answering too, & they are reliable for arranging taxi's too & from the airport.
What more can i say, i will be there 8th - 14th Dec 05, but peak season prices not so cheap, but then others places charge more as well, Soi Katoy & C&d's here i come. Can't wait
Bye the way, anyone paranoid about another Tsunami its up a hill so will survive i think, but as bad as the Tsunami was it was nature not terrorists how could anyone have really known. You pays your money & takes your chance!!
I think one of Mings AsianTS photo shoots was done there!

about 25-30 mins from Bangla road.
Seems like quite a hike. But safe from the tsunami!
I was very happy staying at the Rendezvous, which is on the same soi as the Koh Joy Apartments. Perfect location IMO, and if you want a fancy pool you can pay 100 baht to use the Royal Paradise Pool, a minute away.
