good for you--I would never have the guts to ask them if they are ladyboy friendly. I did ask one hotel in BKK if they were ladyboy friendly and they said yes if they are small ladyboys and not the big Casanova types.

Hi everyone,

I am going soon to Phuket and I am looking to stay near the action at Soi Bangla within reasonable walking distance with pool. About 1500 baht max for room. How is the Patong Villa or Expat Hotel? Please tell me your favorite hotels to stay with LB's and why.

I looked at the Expat and it's really not very nice.  I strongly recommend the Rendezvous.  Absolutely no guest hassles, an in room safe, and really nice rooms.   A few minutes from the Bangla bars and only one minute from the 5 star Royal Paradise pool that you can use for 100 baht a day.

Superior room is only 100 baht more than Standard and feels much bigger.  No lift so request a low floor.

I looked at about 10 hotels when in Phuket and rate Rendezvous as by far the best at this price point.

Checked out the site for the Rendez Vous Hotel. Hotel is in the middle of the gay area but the suite room for 1200baht looks really well appointed. Do GG's have a problem going to this area? Have you seen the Koh Joy Hotel listed on their site.
Is that nearby also?

Mikey, the Koh Joy apartments are immediatly across the street.   The Koh Joy girls liked my room and I'm sure almost all of them have been across the street at koh joy, in fact, I believe that some may actually live at the koh joy..  I'm told by the girls the color scheme is wild at the Koh Joy, so my guess is that the pic of Jiap (Jeab) on another thread with the orange walls was taken at the Koh Joy.

There is a HUGE difference between the southernmost soi of the Paradise Complex and the northernmost soi.  The norternmost soi is a gay street, plain and simple.  The southernmost soi, where the Rendezvous and Koh Joy apartments are located has no gay bars.  It has a few straight massage places, the girl in one named Ice Cream asked if I want to eat Ice Cream.   It also has a couple of internet shops, a few laundries, travel agents, restauarnts. You will not feel that you're on a gay street.  I did not.  However, the Rendezvous is owned by a gay guy, and I got the impression that a majority of the guests were gay.  

But there's not really a lobby, rather the ground floor is a breakfast area, so there's not really much interaction between guests. At night you use your electronic card nkey to open the downstairs door, so it feels like an apartment rather than a hotel.

I was very happy with my Superior Room.  Very nice bathroom, and all around comfortable.  Guess the Delux is a little bigger.  Standard is too small.   But I would rather have a low floor Superior than a high flor Delux.

I brought GG's to my room, they had no problem with it whatsoever.

bottom line is that it is on the edge of a gay area.  It is by no means in the middle of the gay area.
You can be at Cocktails and dreams in three minutes if you take the shortcut.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure I will enjoy my stay there. By the way do you enjoy the ladyboy scene better in Phuket over Pattaya. Which place has a more concentrated number of LB's in one area. I assume Cocktails and Dreams is your favorite place but how about the beerbars in Soi Crocidile. Is that soi of beerbars inhabited mostly by LB's or mixed with GG's. I heard of Tequila Bar on this site mentioned and is the first bar as you enter the soi. What others are popular for ladyboy hunting? After all the bars and discos close are they all congregating near the end of Bangla road. I heard closing times are later than Bangkok or Phuket also. Sorry for the twenty questions but I have'nt been to Phuket since 92' and I did'nt go to Patong other than to the beaches.

since I've been going to Pattaya regularly, I now know a bunch of ladyboys and farangs who live there.
So Pattaya is better for me. But, if I had to do it all over again, it would have been better if I started out in Phuket since it is so much nicer.

Where to find ladyboys:
1) Cocktails and Dreams

2) Soi Crocodile, the ladyboys tend to be at the bars near the entrance. There are more GG than LB on Soi Crocodlie. I don't kniow the names of the bars there but youn just walk by and u can see where the ladyboys are.

3) in the cabarets near the Royal Paradise Hotel. Some of these ladyboys are out on the street promoting their show early in the evening. So you can have a chat with them outside and get her number. I made a mistake of going to the show to meet her. After the show she was coming down the stairs and motioned towards outside. Instead I wavered for her to come over and have a drink, and that wound up costing a 500 baht barfine for no reason.

On your first night try to get to C&D early and have a converstion with Nick or Don, both really nice guys. At C&D if you have any questions about the girls there, ask Coco the mamasan, she can be very helpful.

But there's plenty of guys on this board who know MUCH more about the Phuket scene than me; I was only there once for a week.

Cocktails and Dreams

This is in my opinion the best place to find ladyboys in Phuket. The bar is owned by Nick an Aussie and his LB wife Ning Nong. The bar manager is a guy named Don who is also another Aussie. The place is very laid back compared to say Nana plaza and you hardly get hassled by the girls at all. The mamasan was Coco but is now a ladyboy named Karla. I do not know her that well but from what I can tell she is quite nice and is the person to see if you want to know anything about the girls. I usuall stay at KohJoy when I am there and all the girls know where it is only about 3 minutes walk from the bar. Coco and another ladyboy named Waas used to live there as well but now only Waas lives there.

Soi Crocodile

This is near the beach end of Bangla Road and you will see many ladyboys standing out the front trying to bring the punters in. Early in the evening you see the girls from the Moulin Rose Cabaret also trying to get you to see their show. There are a mostly lady bars in here but the ones right up the front like Tequila and Alexander bar are where the LB's hang out. You will often see them flashing their breasts and the occassional pussy or cock. This is a lot harder selll here than at C&D and be prepared for the old "buy me drink" routine. Right down the back of the soi near the Cabaret you will see a few sitting around also.

Paradise Complex

This is actually where many of the ladyboys live and walking around there you can often see them out and about. You have a couple of gay bars with LB cabaret shows in them like Tangmo and Uncle Charlies. You cannot be shy walking into these places as you are more than likely going to be propositioned by the Thai guys inside. Just say no thanks and sit down and enjoy the show.

Beach Road
Before the tsunami you used to get a few of the girls walking up and down here after the bars were closed looking for customers not so many now but still one or two.

Baya Beach Disco

As this seems to be nearly the only disco that the LB's can routinely get into you will often find a few in there after midnight.

Bangla Road & Pizza Company

Not quite the Greatest show on earth like Nana car park but not bad just the same. Often you will see the girls congregate at the 200 pee road end of Bangla getting something to eat and many times I have seen a lot of them especially the C&D crowd in the Pizza Company.

The best girl i found in Phuket works in this Caberet. Young petite thing, very nice, she lives in the Royal Paradise complex.

Watch the caberet late show and youll see her. Very pretty.

Howdy, out there. I'm planning my second LB trip to LOS, but it's the first time I'll be visiting Phuket.

Does anyone know of pretty nice hotel/resort that is LB friendly and close to the action?

Are places like the Shearton, Twinpalms, Karon beach resort, Holiday Inn, etc. LB friendly?

Also, what is the weather like in August?

I like staying at the Rendezvous guest house. No pool, but a minute away from the pool at the Royal Paradise whiich u can officially use for 100 baht.

3 minute walk from Cocktails and Dreams using the shortcut. Another minute or so from C&D to Soi Katoey. The hotel is also just one minute from most of the cabaret shows.

No problem with guests. Extremely comfortable at a very low price. Book Superior room or better since standard is small. Request low floor since there is no lift.
