(halla @ Apr. 22 2009,20:06) Althoug annoying, this was nothing compared to the reaction I got from the girls after they had asked me about what hotel I lived in. They really seemed dissapointed to hear that I lived there. Like they thought 'oh no, not another one of those pervs'.
That made me kinda almost stop saying where I lived. So the conversation would go like this:
'What hotel you stay?'
'Not really shure....Pattaya...ummm....Bay...something'
'Pattaya Bay Resort?'
'Yeah, that's it'
'Oh'

(Stogie @ Apr. 22 2009,19:49) I've taken hundreds of LBs back there since it opened and never EVER has anyone reacted like that.
Playing naive and confused works fine for me. Â Â
The reason this works good for me might be that I'm in my twenties, have 'baby eyes' and 'cute face like lady'
When I'm trying to go with an innocent immage, staying at the PBR really ruins this
I wrote what I wrote because I've stayed there, and that's what I experienced. So please don't call it rubbish because you've had other experiences and disagree. It seems like most people agree with you, and think this is a great place to stay. But for me, it didn't work for the best.
Ps. Even though I feel that the advices in here is not always something that would work out the best way for me, a lot of them (maybe even most of them) are good advices and very useful. And I would defenately be much more naive without this forum. But I make my own experiences, and those give me much bigger guidelines for my actions than what I read in here.

Am in the lobby posting from they're free interent PC right now and it is a really great place to stay.
Rooms very clean, the free breakfast is very good aswell. no joiners fee for a second guest either which is good in Pattaya.
not one complaint here and am not the easiest to please.

Sounds to me like a bit of projection on your part - you thought you were being a slimeball, and BINGO, the girl suddenly gives you a look like you're a slimeball. This my friend is called "projecting" and means you are projecting your own values and fears onto someone else, then thinking that you are getting that reaction from them. In other words, you're mind-fucking yourself.
Hope you don't stay there again in the future, it makes it easier for the rest of us to get a room there. Obviously, they're booked out 3 months in advance consistently because Thai girls hate the place and no one wants to go there.Making newbie mistakes since 2009 so you don't have to

Staying at PBR now. Great place. Friendly staff, included breakfast is good, tuk tuk is convenient, and relatively quiet.
Fyi, both lots in front of and behind the hotel are being worked on. Woke up to someone chopping down trees behind the hotel. And a fence was put up in the lot in front of the hotel. So may not be the quietest place for a little bit.

Oh, I booked the hotel one day in advance, and they told me I could stay as long as I wanted. I rarely plan things too much, so I booked one day in advance and told them I was not sure when I would leave. But hey, the high season this high season didn't really become high season. Did it?

(Stogie @ Apr. 07 2009,13:28) They do NOT have a 'current joiner policy.' Supposedly it is 500 baht if you take TWO LBs back to the room but I have never heard any of the board members (including me) being charged for this, and I've done it a fair few times!
Construction started a few days ago in the vacant lot between the Avenues complex and the PBR.
My suggestion is to make reservations for the "Garden View" side of the hotel.

Just arrived this morning and experienced many positive surprises. Don't know whether this is due to having stayed here a few times before or having made my reservation back in March.
Arrived on the Bell bus shuttle together with 2 other guys - their rooms were not ready, mine was. Got one on the 3rd floor with jungle view and so far it has been very quiet.
If any BMs are still around and want to hook up for a drink, let me know.
So far, the PBR is my first choice here in Pattaya and it almost feels like coming home.
Yesterday Boem sent me a reminder e-mail, which I only received after having checked in :-) but it seems that they are fully booked. Good for them, they don't seem to be much affected by the crisis.

I stayed at the PBR earlier this month for 12 nights.
I found the place ok, no major gripes there. The staff are all friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable.
Like others have stated, the aircon is a bit of pain, but nothing too serious.
I will say however, and this is just my opinion, that I although I would stay there again, it would not be first choice. For similiar money I think the Areca is a much better hotel. Like I said the place is OK and that's all.
I had an okay stay at PBR, however i find Areca has better pools, breakfast and restaurant facilities.
As for joiners - i had no issues taking 2 LB back to Areca, 300 baht additional joiner for the 2nd LB, whilst PBR charges 500 baht if it can be bothered.
I prefer the street where Areca is located and there is multiple internet cafe within 5 minutes walk so the lack of net is not a real issue for me.

I wonder if it has been removed?
