Well, you shouldn't have to wait long, but in the mean time you are missing out on a great hotel that provides FREE Tuk Tuk transportation to and from the main road... (by the way - the motorcycle trip from Soi 15 to the hotel is on a deserted backroad with no traffic, so the chances of an accident are minimal.)

How far is the walk to Soi Buckow? reason I ask is that's the baht bus route teerak takes to work.

I assume the tuk tuk will also take you there?

PigDogg, from the map it appears to be the same distance, but as I have stayed here for the past 3 days and come to the hotel via both routes, it seems the Soi Buckhow route is farther. I don't think it would be any problem for the Tuktuk taking you to Soi Buckhow as long as there are no other passengers who want to go to 2nd Road.

With the opening special it has to be one of the best value for $$ places to stay in Pattaya. Even the standard rooms are quite nice - they are just a bit smaller and are missing the DVD player. The wifi is excellent here as well.

I brought my date here as she has never seen the Tiffany and Alcazar Shows before - and she showed her appreciation a great deal! Sorry no pics as she told me not to, but she has been on the forum before.

Yes Tuk tuk will take you there also for free.

I took a motorbike back every night and never a problem. I think just tell them to ride slowly if you are worried. As Stogie says no traffic on that soi after about 1am anyway. You can walk from 2nd road less than 10 minutes also did that many times. In fact I walked from beach road and soi yamato and did not take very long.

Thank you Stogie Bear for your advice. I book a room in good time. De luxeroom was not available for smoker,(damn, because I would have the DVD-player and coffemachin)
Now I look forward to my stay from 26/9 - 7/10. Especially if I have the opportunity to meet you and some other members from ATS. Sorry to say, I have been five times to Thailand, but allways with wrong company, so this time will be my first to meet a sweet femboy/ladyboy....

Well looks like nice rooms for a good price and sounds like great service.

The killer for me is that the place is just too damn far and I wont ride motobikes for transport. Easy enough to take the tuktuk to 2nd road but not so fun when you want to bring an LB back to your room and need to wait for a tuk tuk after calling the hotel OR using two motorbikes to get there(3 people on a motorbike is ridiculous)

The other killer is the 500 baht joiner fee. For guys like me whom like 2-3 short times during the day, this is a deal breaker and I know Im not in the minority on this one.

To be fair, Stogie should state whether he is getting free rooms for this promotion.

When the shopping center is open later this year the walk is a short direct 200 m to 2nd road. Right now the road winds around so the walk is more like 400 m instead.

By the way Brocklanders, there is no promotion for ATS members right now - the hotel is offering these prices as an opening promotion. SB is trying to negotiate some sort of promotion for ATS members AFTER this promotion is done. Also there is no joiner fee for the 1st guest - if you are staying solo in your room. Other BM have suggested to SB if the 2nd and more guest fee can be waived for ATS members.

Reading the details before you start posting such comments would be helpful.

Having stayed here the first weekend in August I can highly recommend this place, as the opening special rates give great value for the money.

There have been a number of other board members who have tried this hotel, and enjoyed their stays.

Early next year we will be able to offer discounts for readers here and I'm talking to the owner (Kim) and manageress (Boom) now about being able to get last minute bookings discounted so we can get cheap deals late in the day and they can fill the rooms... more on that later.

For now - take advantage of the fantastic introductory rates which are good till the 20th of October. I tried to get some photos of the larger rooms but, yes - you've guessed it - they were all occupied!

Members (re)joining the AsianTS.com for a year will soon be able to get a free night in a standard room (see picture below) (which I will personally pay for) so watch out for that promotion coming up in the next few weeks...

Stewart, will see if Brocklander's responds to clarify what he thought, but first: Brocklanders wrote that there is a 500 Baht joiner fee - this applies to the 2nd guest and not the 1st additional guest. His post implied there is additional 500 Baht charge for any guests in addition to yourself.

Also, it seems he was asking SB if he was going to get free rooms for the ATS promotion under negotiations as per SBs quoted post. Right now the opening promotion is not limited to any group so there really isn't a reason for Pattaya Bay Resort to give SB a free room - but then we will wait for further clarification from Brocklander's and/or SB.

Ok, to be specific for those that have problems with English.

1. I was referring to the 500baht joiner fee for the second guest and I mentioned my normal MO of 2-3 short times per day to clarify. Dont know many guys who just do 1 LT every day while in Pattaya but thats just me.

2. Was referring to Stogie receiving free nights stays or other benefits for promoting this hotel. Why would I confuse Stogie's involvement with the rest of the other board members? Talk about lack of logical reasoning when reading...sheesh.

Ok, that makes it pretty clear - the additional 500 Baht fee is for more than 1 guest at the same time - like 69Billy likes to do - 2-4 lbs all at the same time. So if you want to do 2-3 sts in a day, you will not have more than 1 guest in your room at the same time - shouldn't be any extra charge in this case.

What you ask is not always so clear when there can be more than one possibility for a situation.

As for the free room - will have to leave that to SB to answer.

Yes seems you are the one who needs such lessons. A joiner fee in case you are not aware is someone who joins you at the same time so since you would never have more than once person visiting you at a single time you would never have to pay any additional fee.

Actually not true, joiner fees for some establishments have been defined as any time any guests other than one for the ENTIRE day is given an extra charge and some establishments charge you for each girl you bring upstairs.
