Since I am here I can answer a few of the questions I hope:

Tuk Tuk is free but I always tip the guy 10 - 20 bhat per person.  He takes you to Second Road and thats it 99% of the time because of the Police.
Its so easy to grab a taxi or bike in combo with tuk tuk and pretty cheap.

Joiner fees....Well not have had any problem with that for the entire stay.  Then Again I tip Everyone from maids to desk to drivers etc....It Helps

Also, very good security in regards to unwanted guests or underage visitors.

Its a great place to stay and if you get to know them and they get to know you ...its even better

Just to add, they replied back in about an hour or so which is very quick in my book & I'm in the business although not in Thailand.

I'll post from there & say more but 1 of the things that got me was the Wi Fi/Highspeed in every room, I need that for work.

Also, being a bit out from the nutters is god too.  Having the optin to join in the fun or have some quite time with a little mate or 2 suits me as well.

BTW, I'll be there from the 22nd of August if anyone wants to go lurking with me.

Do they really charge 500 baht per day security deposit? Is keeping my CC on file sufficient as security deposit? Also, how do I give SB credit for the referral?

When I stayed there July 27-30, they did not charge me the 500 Baht/night security deposit, as mentioned on their room rates page. I imagine having a credit card on file would be sufficient if they did charge.

Not sure about how to give SB credit, but I think he said mention that you are an ATS member and that should do the trick.

Mention my name Mark Newman and they will know who you are...

The 1,000 Baht a stay security is really to cover the cost of the expensive key-swab if you lose it. The hotel is more flexible on how they enforce this requirement and I have seen people not get charged for this especially if they are paying with a credit card.

Just a mention... girls gossip and the girls at PBR are no different, so if you've got any secrets then keep them away from the hotel staff...

The manager has assured me that the girls will be given a lesson on discretion!

Just got back from three great days there and am going back for three more next week with KL and TT...

Once again I just missed SamplerDoc... he didn't recognise me but I saw him near Walking Street talking to two of the girls who work at the hotel one of whom was celebrating a birthday...

If your considering The Pattaya Bay resort don't delay your booking. It might still be low season, but they have just advised me there are no Deluxe rooms left for mid September, in fact hardly any vacancies during September.
Mai bpen rai, the teerak will love the standard room anyway, certainly a step up from the fine, but basic Jasmine.

Wise words... This unique hotel is filling up fast for this year... and now that Soi 13 is a 5 minute walk (if that) it's a great location, too.
