(brocklanders @ Aug. 06 2007,09:42) Actually not true, joiner fees for some establishments have been defined as any time any guests other than one for the ENTIRE day is given an extra charge and some establishments charge you for each girl you bring upstairs.

Q: Is there an additional charge for joiners/over-night guests?
A: All of our rates quoted are for 1 or 2 persons sharing the same room. Therefore, if a single guest brings back a joiner, there is no additional fee. If you have a third person in the room, there is an additional charge of 500 baht per person, per night.
This is the policy stated on their website. But I think it's always best to email a hotel with specific questions about their joiner policy and bring a printout of the response.

I stayed here for two days in July and was pretty impressed. Clean, spacious, excellent wifi in the rooms, nice pool. Didn't have a problem with the noise from the nearby construction but my room was at the 'back'.
Staying again in September by which time the nearby Mall should be open etc making the surrounding area a tad more salubrious.
One slight reservation; only one elevator which could cause delays when busy.

I went through the posts quickly... so I hope I've got the gist of it...
After October 20th we'll be unveiling some special rates & concessions for AsianTS.com forum members.
I do get a consideration for actively promoting this hotel.
The extra 500 Baht guest fee only applies if you take two guests at the same time. If you stroll in with the ladies one at a time there's no extra charge. You will be given free towels, waters and soaps etc for that extra fee.

Hey guys, other than the soon to be opened mall what's within a two minute walk of the hotel? Any particularly good places for food or massage?
Teeraks'a masseuse but somehow I don't like asking her for a massage every day. Guess it's like that Seinfeld episode.
The introductory special is really good. For the first 7 days is costing me 790*6 = 4740 while my old hotel would be 600*7 = 4200. But then i'd pay extra for the nearby pool.
And I'm sure the PBR is allot nicer than my old hotel. But I did like having my favorite eateries, laundries, and massage all about 30 seconds away.

Hey Soc,
I've been staying at the Kingfisher on Soi Yensabai, large room 600 baht and small room I think 500 baht although under the old management the small rooms were only 400 baht.
It suited my needs fine with tile floors and an in room safe, AC and TV that work, and a hot shower, and a 24/7 internet shop a couple shops away. Â I'd pay 100 baht if I wanted to swim at the Yensabai condo but now it's 200. Â And close enough to work teerak works on Pattaya Tai so she could walk to work. Â
But it seemed allot newer and nicer three years ago.
But for rooms for as little as 500 it's a good deal except for location.
Although it suits my needs fine, I don't really recommend it to others as the location is a tad inconvenient for those who don't like motobikes as it's a 5 minute walk to the VC Hotel. Â For a helicopter like you, i would think twice. Â
Baht busses going south on Beach road don't go as far as the VC (except for the 5% that turn and go to Jomtien) , so there's walking involved and Thai ladyboys in heels don't like to walk and I don't like mototaxis.
There were rainy nights that I would have popped into 131 for a drink but passed cuase of the hassle getting there and back. So I'm hoping that the new mall is open when I arrive at the PBR. Anyone know if it's on schedule?
I do highly recommend it for guys who like Sunee Plaza.
It has no internet prescence but the rooms are exactly the same as Two guy's Guesthouse formerly Monty's guesthouse. Â The somara/cholkita was what is now 1/3 Monty's and 2/3 Kingfisher.
Kingfisher is a laid back place that has a str8 Norwegian clientele. Â Monty's next door has a gay aussie clientele.
Here is a link to look at the Two Guy's rooms. Â Go to the left and click on Monty's. Â Two Guy's is an even better deal in low season as they throw in free breakfast. Â But it is most definuitly a gay hotel. Â Anyway it'll gibve you a look at the rooms.
Two Guy's/Monty's Guesthouse Sunne Dot Com
I'm back in Pattaya/Samet for three weeks startingthe 26th. Â Hope to see you bro! Â Â

To answer your question - there is nothing close to the hotel outside it. But these services you want are supplied internally.
One of the nicer things about this hotel is the seclusion and distance from all those street vendors and small Thai shops and businesses without it being too remote for ladyboy bar access.
If you like mixing it up with the locals and living close to amenities (like laundry, massage parlours and local food etc) then this place is probably not for you.

(Socrates999 @ Aug. 13 2007,16:13) Wow! Thanks for the detailed info. Looks like the shopping center may be finished on target- this month, I believe
Glad you and teerak are still together.
I'll be there 31 Aug for sure, and maybe the weekend of the 24th, as well.

Once the mall is open it will be a very quick 200 m walk to 2nd Road - that will be easy access to all the services wanted. The hotel webpage is now advertising the Mall is open for the short 200 m walk - even better if this is correct!
PigDogg, if you are going to Pattaya before the opening promotional rates end (October 14), I would highly recommend this place even though it is a bit further away from your favorite services.
When I stayed there July 27 - 30, it was very nice, my companion and I were very happy with the hotel and facilities. We were in a standard, non-smoking room.
