  • (stogie bear @ May 11 2008,07:30) You can't go wrong here.
The hotel of choice at the 1000 baht price point.

And for guys who don't bring a laptop there's two free computers in the lobby.

As for laundry, I don't like a hotel being a middleman so when I stayed I walked it over to Soi Buckhow.

    • This is the room to get...

      Great room service too...

Only problem I have ever had in PBR...I can never adjust the temp of the shower properly...even with the assistance of my little friend...

      • My 'little friend' is only good for one thing... and it's not calibrating the hot and cold water supply!

        • Just a note, Kahuna's pics look like a Deluxe room, not the Standard room for 999 baht. The girl doesn';t come with the room either; you have to find your own.

          • Right...that's the mini-suite...runs around 2500 baht but if you're only going over from BKK for 3 or 4 days it is well worth the extra baht...

Has a small kitchen area and a very large bathroom as well...

And unfortunately you do have to provide your own girl...

            • Now the trick is to find a girl who is not only good in the bedroom, but the kitchen as well.Well it would be a shame to rent a room with a kitchen & not use the damn thing LOL

              • I just booked the Presidential Suite for a week Feb. 5 - 12. Tbht 3,300 per night seems reasonable, I know that's very expensive for Pattaya but I love upscale places in 3rd World economies - I can experience luxury without cashing in my retirement. Has anyone else stayed and got any comments on the Presidential Suite?

                1. What is the "panoramic view" like? Is it just of other buildings downtown?
                2. Espresso machine - decent? I'm an espresso junky.
                3. Noise - is it noisy up this high or not?
                4. Computer - does it work well? I have to run an internet business while on the road so that helps.

Finally, I've read comments on another Pattaya board (not as "enlightened" as this one of course) where a number of guests reported that the hotel staff told their "guests" about other guests they had and got some ladies all riled up. Stogie, could you check into this with Yuphin and see if this can be corrected? Utmost discretion is important in a hobby like ours and I'd hate to take a GG and have the desk goddess inform her that I had a LB in the room the night before. Might not bode well for me.

                    Read that myself.
It was either pattayatalk or pattayasecrets. Not sure which.

                    • I really don't like the front staff, especially the fat one that looks like she's Filipino. Both times I stayed there they tried to stick me in a smoking room. Also, the gym is utterly useless although it has a great view of the hotel next door which looks real swank. Also I wish the entire hotel was aircon, not just the lobby.

Positives...great location. I wouldn't want to bring LBs in and out of a busy soi, so I like the fact that it's tucked away but still close to the main road. The free breakfast is pretty good. Once you deal with the front desk at check in, you don't have to deal with them until check out.

If it's true that the staff is alerting GGs to our LB hobby, that's inexcusable.

                        • I booked a standard room for two weeks in December. E-Mail contact was without delay and none of the typical misunderstandings came up.

I am really looking forward to the place.

Thx to the forum for introducing it.

                            • I had a great maid when I stayed at the PBR last fall for a month.

She was very nice to all my guests, joked around with me and did a great job of cleaning up after this world class slob. So I tipped her well.

One morning the gg I was with started her period right in the middle of a session and by the time I realized what was happening the sheets were a bloody mess.

We stripped the bed and threw the sheets in the shower to rinse them off. My girl then talked to the maid and it was no problem. The maid laundered the sheets and was able to get the stains out.....no charge.

Same thing happened a couple of different times a few years ago at the Sandy on soi 13 and they charged me 1200b for a new set of sheets each time.

                              • Yes... I had an accident with the sheets a while back and it was dealt with quickly, sensibly and without too much embarrassment!

Having a farang in charge makes all the difference. If this place is fully booked I won't even bother coming to Pattaya in future! I made that mistake last time... never again.

Someone mentioned about the construction nearby... My room is looking out onto it and it's barely audible. The aircon makes more noise.
