(bobbybobby @ Dec. 12 2007,06:12) you need to get a life.
Why does everyone always say that..."Get a life."

I take it the phrase is intended to anger the person to whom you direct the comment...

Seems folks can't just be pissed off alone, they need pissed off company...

Maybe someone otta go into the Get A Life business...

Could be fairly lucrative given the large number of folks who seem to need one...

bobbybobby, Your right, pleased you posted your bad experiences of Phuket, cause as we have seen the place is an absolute shithole if you don't run with your eyes open! On the other hand it appears yours was a text book case of "eyes bigger than head", take your pick which head. You picked up a freelancer, as many/most of the gals in Soi Croc are without taking ANY precautions whatsoever, and by the sounds of it little discussion, got on a scooter with a gal who was both high and drunk, not giving a shite about your OWN safety. Still no bells ringing?. The scooter was NOT parked in Bangla unless this was sometime after 2am, so you walked the length of Bangla Rd with your "lovely" and Mr little head out front doing all the thinking and no bells rang in either of your heads?? It's at least a 250 m walk. You didn't pick up any bad vibes in that time??? You then got on HER bike when she was OBVIOUSLY High/Drunk/both and rode off into the sunset. Bangla Rd and particularly Soi Crocodile is crawling with security, both covert and overt. One in uniform is always at the front entrance, and two of the meanest motherfuckers (security) in all of Phuket in plain cloths within a jump, at Tequila bar WOULD have come to your assistance had you called out. For your future trip any of the Tequila bar staff would have given you assistance if you had asked. Tourist police are always at the Paradise end of Bangla Rd, opposite Tiger Entertainment complex usually. And regular MIB ride & wander Bangla all night. Your right, you learned a valuable lesson. You won't make those mistakes again. Stay away from the Beach Rd Freelancers as well as they are WAY meaner than anything you can find crawling Bangla it'self. Stay away from aggressive, drunk, or high LB. Control YOUR surroundings, take them back to YOUR hotel or short time room and get their ID card dropped at your front desk. For a young guy lesson well learned. Your right to point out that Patong is not all paradise! At least your still here to tell the tale, so a "cheap" lesson for us all. Giving your money is better than giving your life

      >>>Any younger guys in their twenties want to hangout, send me a message please. I could use a friend over there. >>>

There are plenty of LB lovers in Phuket, both young and old that would be happy to be a "wingman" for your next trip. Some of us older guys don't bite. Just sing out. But for fuck sake go around with your eyes open, everywhere when you are away on holiday. In if you think Phuket is bad wait until you've been to Pattaya!

I feel rather like the sort of person who shouts "FIRE" just to see what engines turn up!

Never actually thought this thread would generate so much passion.

However if Kahuna wants a UK branch of "GetALife Inc" I will be interested should we do buy one get one free do you think?

What seems to be going on here in this thread is that the negative posts are done by people who have acted stupid or have none or very limited experience with Phuket.
Another thing going on is that ONE bad experience is generalized. Since I had many LB-experiences in Phuket through many years, I would like to share one of many good ones:
I contacted one of the scooter-girls on Kata-beach-road, liked her and went to the beach with her (she suggested that). We sat down on a beach-chair, I payed her 1000 baht and we started to kiss and touch. I got aware of a guy sneaking up along the chairs about 100yds away approaching us and was of course alarmed. I immidiately thought it was an arranged thing, but before I showed any reaction the LB said she saw the guy too, didn´t like the situation and suggested we go to my hotel.
I drew my car and she followed on her scooter. It was a 10min drive in the dark through some very crowded places and she of course could very easily get away from me. But she followed. When we arrived I told her I was a bit surprised that she had not just kept the money and left me. She answered :"I am not that kind of person". We went to my room and had a wonderful time. She was a beauty in body and mind and sexually very very good.
I find in Phuket (and in general) that I mostly get what I ask for. Since I am a person who like taking risks I have experienced many dangerous and life-threatening situations (also in Thailand). In Phuket I think it is easy to choose level of risk in LB-situations and all other situations, and it is very easy to choose the good ones (traffic is the most unpredictable and dangerous).
I think that people who have little experience and shout out in big words seem pretty stupid. In this thread some of the posts are reminders of that.

To bobbybobby and his "get yourself a life" I would just like to add that it is not just a question of getting a life, it is also a question of what kind of life you want to get. If you continue to make choices like the one you presented here you sure will get a life, but a very miserable one.
Your story is not so much a story about Phuket or LBs, it is more a story about making the wrong choices and being stupid. What your story lacks is a conclusion and the main concluscion is that you acted in a stupid way, secondary there are bad people around and therefore stupid actions may lead to misery.
If you are unable to judge people, if you are too drunk, if you -------
---PLAY IT SAFE. That is pretty easy in Phuket if you look out before crossing the road.

Great post Brave782. The Scooter girls of Phuket are not for first time Ladyboy hunters. There are some real gems on the road between Patong, and Kata. Not sure how they make a living though, as I'm sure customers are fairly few & far between. NO doubt you can come to great harm in Phuket if you don't watch out, but I don't see it as any different to any other part of Thailand.

Funny isn't it? I've picked up many of the freelancers from the circle at Karon and along the road all the way down to the T-junction at the turn off to Kata Noi. I'm usually drunk and always go back to their room not mine. I've never had the slightest problem and have indeed had some outstanding experiences. I've had one take me to the service station in the morning when my bike wouldn't start because it was out of fuel, one who bought me breakfast and then waited for me to come back with cash because I found in the morning that I didn't have any for her. I've had others bring a friend to join us, free.

Admittedly I've lived there a long time and speak some Thai, but I do take some hellish risks when I'm drunk and yet I've had no problems ... yet.

Having said all that, I love Phuket but prefer to play in Pattaya these days.

Just back from 3 days of scuba diving in Phuket and I would have to say that the scene in Patong is pretty pathetic now. When I was there 2 years ago there was a lot of FLs hanging out near the Soi next to RockHard GG. Took 2 LBs there for 1 k each and received great service. One of them was named Ta and was fantastic in bed, Deep Throat and come in mouth with no problem. I would call her up and have her come to my hotel and give her 1k afterwards and she seems very happy with it.

This time the only come on I had on Bangla was some LBs standing in the middle of the main drag of Bangla trying to get me to go to her bar to hustle for drinks. One of them even pretended to be not understand the word "Shorttime" after 3rd time repeating it she said "OH, you mean make love?" at which point I just kept on walking.

There also was a thriving public dance and performance thing in Soi Crocodile where the LBs would take turns strutting their stuff. Afterwards you could make a deal with the one you like for an impromptu ST.

I am just wondering if the quiet thing is due to
the couple of weeks of respect to be paid to the deceased royal family member.

I did read that they were cracking down very hard in phuket to ensure that no load noise etc came from the bar scene.

                              Any feedback gents??

I can't read this without saying a few words now.  All of Thailand is now mourning the loss of the Princess.  I was at the Cocktails And Dreams Bar the night that a contingent of Thai Police arrived with a notice that there would be 2 weeks of no dancing on bars, no loud music at all and no live bands playing.  This has been pretty rigidly enforced.  This is almost over and being a resident here, I am enjoying the chance to go to a bar and actually have a conversation with someone there!  I have come to respect Thai tradition and agree.  There are still a multitude of LB's in the bars and on the streets, no shortage.  Use basic good judgement and you will usually do fine.  Come to Phuket and enjoy as you would any of the other cities where the LB's converge.  Tapioca
