Not long ago a kid , maybe 15 years old wore a god awful pukeugly sweater (think Bill Cosby sweater ugly). I told him" Nice sweater", the kid smiled and said "Thanks".
A bit bold for you isn't it?...sure you never went home and posted it on the net to him?

Hang on a second. Not Issan. It's Samut Prakan. That's the area where the new airport is.

Let's see. I've checked the suitcase a number of times. There's nothing contraband in it. The suitcase thing is pretty legit. When she was leaving for home, her original suitcase was 7kg over the limit. That's alot of extra cost so we unloaded a number of stuff to try and get the luggage allowance under the limit and buddha got booted as a result.

And really, it's kinda odd if you want to bring drugs out of SG to BKK. I can tell you drugs would be alot cheaper in BKK than SG. So there's no margin for that kind of stuff if your wholesale price is above the market.

Rxpharm Impressive, I've not told you that much but you've pieced the puzzle together and come up with a pretty decent background of how this came about.

Keep this going, less the extra off-topic stuff please.

Maybe if you gave your loyal readers (and fans) some additional information about your "dearest" they could give you additional feedback and wisdom.

Actually, good thing you brought up the suitcase thing - me, I never even would have thought to check. I guess I'm just that naive, but at any rate it was good advice by the board.

Okay if you want more background...

IT ALL STARTED WHEN DP VISITED SINGAPORE!

Yes, yes. He brought his caravan of love and infected the whole lot of us hard-nosed mongers (me and FF) with a serious bout of "Love is in the air."

Life has never been the same since then.

A good thing you didn't meet up with Steward and Kleet.

Hmmmm, I'd never take anyone's bag through customs.. For any reason...

If the excess weight is the issue, I'd pay the excess baggage, or give her the money to send it home via the most expedient method...

I'd never take anyones bag through customs.. For any reason...

si geena, I regularly read the Singapore adventures that you friedfrunk and kleetora have posted. I have been there a few times, but only tried Desker Road once many years ago. The other times I have been there with a companion of choice, who wanted to visit Orchard Towers to see some friends.

It wasn't too hard to figure out from your recent posts of the "wife" and I think DP is a sailor who has wives at every port he stops in! A true romantic, but he may deny it.

As for your adventure, go ahead - I've visited Udon Thani and Roi-Et in the past (staying at hotels though), and would not have missed meeting the families. There has been some good advice posted here, so ignore the off topic stuff and you will be fine. Your Asian background will also help, as there are some commonalities with Thai customs (take off shoes before coming in the house, respect your elders, etc.).

As for falling for a "working lb" yes it can happen, and sometimes yes she can actually fall for you - the key is she is looking for security, especially if she is tired of the p4p scene. Some of them are looking for an out and if you're nice to them and can provide security it may work.

Good luck, keep alert and enjoy your adventures!

                        ...

A good thing you didn't meet up with Steward and Kleet.
rxpharm has done most of the over the counter detective work. I didn't want to let the cat slip out of the bag on this one. Thank goodness I didn't make it out to Guru DP's Love Shenanigans session or I might have ended up like you lads.

I do applaud you for your effort and I wished you all the best previously. Go out and have a go at it. It's like playing the lottery, the hope of winning makes you drop back in for more.

I agree with the drug comments, why would you sneak them out of Singapore and into Thailand, but stranger things have happened. If you had a friend with a drug sniffing dog, it wouldn't hurt to invite them around. Why would your gf buy a buddha statue in Singapore? Aren't things generally less expensive in Thailand?

On my front, my fave lady is back in town and I have no ears for the other Rowell ladies that chant my name.

Well, actually it's not a buddha. She calls it one but I'm more inclined to call it a Hindu avatar. You know how all these working girls have various Hindu symbols for good luck.

I was also puzzled by it and she mentioned that the ones from SG tends to bring better luck. Well it's quite an intricate piece of work. So if she believes in good luck, she gets it.

Actually, I'm quite eager to get onto this trip. I would certainly like to see a more local side of BKK, I'm done with the tourist traps.

And so far, I've been quite pleased with our interactions. As far as I can tell, we have been mutually honest, mutually understanding and mutually positive in our relations.

The concept of luck is big with the rowellites. Apparently I bring good luck... AKA a fat wallet...

I'm also interested in these figurines. Where'd your teerak pick it up? My lovely lady wasn't much interested in the buddhist temple, but did spend a little time at the hindu one. I thought Thailand was buddhist...

Several of the Hindu dieties and thier avatars are revered in Thailand  -  Ganesh the elephant god is one.

Budhism is an offshoot of Hinduism  -  a bit like Christianity sprang from Judaism.
