I laugh like crazy whenever I watch Happy Gilmore. Same with The Waterboy, Anger Management, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, The Hot Chick, The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, You Don't Mess With the Zohan, Big Daddy, Innumerable old SNL skits with Adam, etc.
I make no apologies to anyone for my love of Sandler movies. I also love to watch old Three Stooges movies too. If that makes me less than 12 in the minds of some of our more sophisticated forum members, so be it. It is a small price to pay.
I also laughed my ass off, no small feat, watching Will Farrell and the great comic genius, Chris Farley. What do I know though? I'm less than 12.

Pheeewww!!
Thank you Left one, I KNEW you were joking all along!!
No one could find this piece of crap actually funny, thank you for putting my mind to rest that you actually LIKED Sandler, now I can laugh along with you.
3 Stooges and Adam Sandler in the same category? Ummmm, are they slipping something into your drinks down there in sin city??
The one where he wears a Bruins sweatshirt and plays golf like a hockey player and gets punched out by Bob Barker [the price is WRONG, Bob!] is decent, I may give the kid from Central High School credit for that one; only. Even the remake of "The Longest Yard'' was horrible; how can someone mess that up?
Just still having a hard time seeing his name up here with Dick Burton and Marlon Brando, Pacino, Eastwood, etc.....any great actor in this thread who is now dead is certainly spinning in their graves right now.
I don't believe anyone in this thread suggested putting him on a level with any of those guys. Jake said his name. I then said, as for contemporary comedy actors, he is my favorite. That hardly means I consider him on a par with Eastwood, Nicholson, Duvall, Walken, Holden, or even Kevin Costner. The idea anyone is talking about him being on a level with all time greats is a figment of your imagination.

Zohan isn't his best movie, but IMO it was original, clever, and some parts made me laugh. I'm not kidding about what I've said re Adam Sandler in any previous posts. Please do not suggest I was. Thank you.
Why not mention The Three Stooges? There stuff was funny because it was silly, and slapstick. Adam's stuff to me is funny for some of the same reasons.
How one could sit down and watch The Stooges and laugh and not laugh at any of Sandler's work is beyond me I guess. But then again, I'm just a simple country boy.

Well goody for you. Some others agree with you. Some others agree with me too.
Nobody here ever said Sandler deserved to be considered amongst the best ever or anything like that. I said he is my favorite contemporary comedy actor. That's all. No need get all worked up over it.
BTW, I also like Steve Martin. I don't know how anyone with a pulse couldn't laugh at The Jerk or The Man With Two Brains. Would that raise or lower my assigned age of 12?

I'm a baby boomer, older than JD, and I still like it. Sandler, Farley, Martin, Farrell. I've got friends back home older than me and we'll watch comedies like those guys made and laugh like maniacs.
