I was just thinking about Sir Richard as well...For me most especially Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? with his then wifey ET...

I've already mentioned my thoughts on how great Depp is but you're right, Brad P., and I'll add Leonardo D., have both overcome their pretty boy images and turned into fine actors...

On another note...there are also other actor/directors as good as Eastwood...Paul Newman, Robert Redford...and on the comedy front Woody Allen for starters...

(JaiDee @ Jun. 04 2010,20:21)   Adam Sandler polluting this thread??  Phhuullleeaassseee

He gives the profession a bad name, not ONE of his movies should ever make a person over age 12 laugh or even sit through it, he is horrible and every project he has ever done is horrible; I mean, 15 movies playing a retarded person makes someone good??

Ditto Will Ferrell .......never made a good movie or even one good scene, he has GOT to be embarassed when he sits through his "premieres".
Well, I guess I am under 12 because I have laughed at a good many scenes in Sandler movies. Will Ferrell makes me laugh too. He was funny in Taladega Nights and in a supporting role in Wedding Crashers. If you couldn't laugh at Ferrell on SNL in the More Cowbell skit, you'd have to be brain dead.

It is a gross misrepresentation to say Sandler only plays retarded people. That is total bullshit in fact. Then again you may be just more refined and dignified than I am.

I laugh like crazy at both Sandler and Ferrell. If that makes me 12 to you, fine. Kiss my ass.   It makes you 80 to me.

Thanks for proving my point azza.

I'd like to see anyone come up with a stronger list of directorial efforts from someone who is also an all time great actor, than Clint has. He is THE MAN!!!

Of the current so called pretty boy actors, I think Brad Pitt is the best. He seems to do well playing good guys, as well as psychos. If you've never seen him in Kalifornia, it is well worth seeing IMO. He plays the psycho role in that movie, very very well.

Now i rate www.imdb.com as a great source for movie rating and ranking.

Clint Eastwood as a director in top 250 movie of all time by my count has Gran Torino, Changeling, Letters from Iwo Jima, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River &  Unforgiven. Not bad -  6 in there from my count.
You WON'T find a legendary actor with that pedegree elsewhere.

seen it, liked it..... and when we move on to Lady actors {I think it's not politically correct to call them actresses anymore } I will move to add Juliette Lewis up near the top. She was in that, as well as very early on in 'Gilbert Grape' with DiCaprio and Depp.....great actor with great range, she is also in Natural Born Killers of course and has recently moved on to a successful singing career.

Just good to compare each mans work and Clint stands head and shoulders above the rest. ( i just happened to know a great site to find the facts on movie history)

It would be interesting to know how many non actor directors have 6 or more in imdb.com's top 250. I agree, it is a great web site. One of my favorites on any subject.

The Rock... and no I dont mean the large black man.
I mean Rock Hudson, who acted straight so well for so long... Champion!

But seriously? I go for Clint. Loved nearly every movie (forget the ape ones) especially the ones he has directed. Still think Pale Rider and Unforgiven can be watched repeatedly.
