The original Law & Order just ended its run. It was one of my fav shows.

As far as americans, I might be guilty as charged when it comes to gaming, but I will enjoy the new land too.

And as to clone wars, I'm just a star wars geek. Dexter I would highly recommend.. 2nd best show I've ever watched.. can download it. Caprica is a spin off from Battlestar Galactica which is the best show I've ever seen and the only one I have on dvd. Tru Blood is a vampire tv series and well Heroes is currently #1 watched in the US if you count real shows and not American Idol.

Maybe I sound insensitive but its not the case at all. I do care!  But if I had to live my whole life based on how everyone might be sensitive to me.. I would not be living my life as I want it. So you can accept me and my flaws as I am or you can't.

Guy, so glad you mentioned "Taxi"... that was the best ever for me... the Rev. Jim applying for his driver's license? Hysterical! Seinfeld was great too tho, like some of the others here I didn't watch at first because it was a network sitcom, but a buddy I respected insisted so I caught up with it 2nd or 3rd season & became a huge fan.

British humor oxymoronic? Ahem..... "The Office" with Ricky Gervais.... best comedy of this decade I'd say.

Best Brit comedy of all time for me was "The Vicar of Dibley"... Clever, great character acting by some of England's finest and occassionally subversive.
Runner up: Blackadder. Bloody Brilliant... but of course you need to know a little history in most episodes so that rules out the transatlantic cousins...
Best US comedy for me would be 30 Rock.
Sad to say IMHO Python doesn't stand the test of time. Life of Brian does, but I watched a few episodes of the show the other night and found it cringe-worthy... as I do Hogan's Heros. I guess my tastes have changed since I was 11.

                  As a postscript:
Funniest show ever was the Simpsons where the Selma and Patty take Bart and Lisa to Duff Beer World and Lisa goes tripping. "Can't talk, coming down" is an amazing line from the mouth of a 7yo girl in prime time. Amazing what the Simpsons continues to get away with.
Cartoons don't count in this thread?

(pacman @ May 30 2010,23:17) while Elaine typified every neurotic Jewish NY Princess with her execrable behaviour & condescencion towards males.
Elaine is not Jewish. There's an entire episode about her being "shiksa" and thus appealing to Jewish men because she isn't like their mothers.

I thought that might be the case but that doesn't excuse her shrill petulance.

Still, I guess without some character flaws there would little point in having her there.

I just know that when she would start up with her whining & obstinance, I would reach for the remote.

I have put up with enough illogical females in my own life without having to sit through Elaine doing her spoilt princess routine.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

Taxi holds a special place in my heart as in my 20's I chose to drive a cab instead of going corporate.  I knew people with great similarities to all the characters with I suppose the exception of Ladka.  Even knew a pretty girl like Elaine (MariLu Henner)who also did a little hooking on the side.

Not too many guys like those on the show are driving a cab anymore in New York as the economics and flexibilty of the industry has changed and now mostly immigrants are behind the wheel.

It would have been interesting to see Jerry, George, and Kramer on that show.  There were plenty of newbie standups driving at that time.

Didn't like it, but "Soap", and it's modern replacement "Weeds" are another story. I'd rather watch "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". At least they get out of the house.

Seinfeld.. Loved it and had to watch every episode.

30 Rock also I thought was brilliant and Alec Baldwin made for the part
