Seinfeld was pretty good, probably one of the best American sitcoms produced, but I think there would be a couple of british ones a tad better then Seinfeld. Porridge was very very good. Only Fools and Horses was great.
Am also a fan of Two and a Half Men. The character Charlie Harper is my hero.I know you still read here, checking my every post like the psychotic stalker that you are
I lay there in bed thinking to myself, am I gay and then Lusi rammed her cock in my mouth and I thought, who cares this is fantastic!!!Comment

I understand the humour in Seinfield. It is a clever show about nothing, purportedly.
I have friends who banged on over the years about how clever it was, how I should watch it closer for the nuances in the delivery of what were genuinely well written scripts.
So I did & I got it but it is not a show of any substance that I would make a single sacrifice to watch. What I struggled with were the absurd cast of characters.
George was neurotic, insecure & ridiculous with no spine, Kramer was certifiable & not living in the real world, Jerry was a smug prig with his didactic conceit meant to construe his wordly superiority while Elaine typified every neurotic Jewish NY Princess with her execrable behaviour & condescencion towards males.
Apart from all that, the show gets re-run on Australian television continuosly with an audience who never tire of it. Maybe I need to watch it again & this time I should pay more attention.Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.Comment

Seinfeld was a great great show...But genius...I thought that word was reserved for NFL coaches...
And I'm surprised no one has mentioned Curb Your Enthusiasm...Very funny show...
The Larry Sanders Show which was preceded by short-lived Garry Shandling Show were also very funny shows..."It's not Gay if you beat them up afterwards." --- AnonComment

Real-life Charlie Sheen also!(whore @ May 30 2010,21:29) Am also a fan of Two and a Half Men. The character Charlie Harper is my hero.
Remember, he had the best line of all time when someone asked him why he paid hookers to come over to his house; "I don't pay them to come over, I pay them to leave".
Agreed, that sitcom is decent for a newer one; the way he is afraid of [and can't stand] his mother is hilarious.Even a broken clock is right twice a day.Comment

Oh man, then you have to get it sometime .....I am sure you can Bit Torrent that..... look under the category "Benny Hill old guy getting impaled'' or some shit and you may get lucky. One of the funniest things you will ever see.(farangbah @ May 30 2010,21:16)WE HAVE A WINNER!(JaiDee @ May 30 2010,21:11)
The Moops!!
PS -- 5 minutes later I'm still guffawing at the Benny Hill image -- I can't remember when I laughed so hard at something I hadn't even witnessed . . .
PS- If I was ever a contestant on Jeopardy and I hit the daily double while in the category "Seinfeld'' I would double up for sure.Even a broken clock is right twice a day.Comment

I'm British and think that it's one of the funniest and most durable comedy shows ever made. I spent some years working in America, but have many English friends that are fans including one who, until last month, hadn't seen an episode and was convinced he wouldn't find any funny. I showed him a couple including 'The Jimmy' and he had to admit that it was very well written and paced.(JaiDee @ May 30 2010,13:57) It's hard for you Brits to understand just how funny this show is, I think, because you aren't American and can't even imagine a little bit what it did for American popular culture...
I have to second the Larry Sanders Show mentioned by kahuna. You men eat your dinner, eat your pork and beans
I eat more chicken, than any man ever seen, yeah, yeahComment

Where's the option for its ok, but if I'm looking for comedy I find Desperate Housewives funnier?

Maybe I sound insensitive but its not the case at all. I do care! But if I had to live my whole life based on how everyone might be sensitive to me.. I would not be living my life as I want it. So you can accept me and my flaws as I am or you can't.

Hey now! its funny what Teri Hatcher did sometimes.
I'm not an avid watcher though, used to watch it sometimes with the ex.. but I never really got into Seinfeld.. Cheers and Murphy Brown were much more my style but they outdated so.. I picked a more modern funny tv show with nice looking females.
But if you really want to know if I'm crazy or not, here's what is on my current TV watch list:
Tru Blood
Dexter
Law & Order: Svu
Caprica
Clone Wars
edit: I have to download Heroes sometime too to catch up on that.

Wow, I've been away from the States for a while . . . I don't think I've heard of a single one of those shows (other than the original Law and Order). Not sure that's such a bad thing . . .(Jake_Sully @ May 31 2010,04:36) Tru Blood
Dexter
Law & Order: Svu
Caprica
Clone Wars
As I sit over here watching foreigners come and go, it always seems like it's the Americans that arrive that are scrambling around to catch up on all their TV shows and getting their video games set up, rather than actually experiencing the new land.
