The average wage in the city of London is now £100,000 for example. Do you think these guys who go to BKK are worried about giving a 500 baft tip to a waitress in K3 or paying 3K for a short time!.

If the girls are clued up on marketing and can get more then whats the problem. Good luck to them.

I've gotta agree. If you are not really on a tight budget, you often don't feel like expending the energy to haggle, because you don't need to. Also, whether it' girls, taxi drivers, tour guides or storekeepers, I feel that these people work for their income (generally to keep me happy) and that I am fortunate to do what I am doing and to be paid well for it. I have no problems with sharing the wealth, though I like to feel appreciation and reciprocation when I do.


Therefore, I do haggle quite often ... but only when somebody pisses me off for being cheap, or perhaps just for the fun of it. I like to talk a LB down to, say, B2500 for LT, then pay them twice that much just for the hell of it ... but only if they don't seem like they are grasping.


I find about a 50-50 split in the LBs when it comes to money. In the mornings there are some that want to haggle for the next B100; this gets me into negotiating mode.

When, in contrast, there is a very charming 'up to you' or maybe just silence, I feel a lot more generous, even if I won't see the girl again.

That's just as daft as saying that a waiter got tipped 30% one time and now expects it every time!

There is a lot of rubbish on this thread about keeping the prices low and not overpaying and haggling!

Pay what makes you feel good and don't pay any mind to the 'armchair economists' who think that overpaying by a few Japs and drunk Americans is gonna make us all suffer.

I'm with Ozzie on this... There are as many cheapos as there are expensivos! There is a general guide to what you should pay on several threads on this forum and it's been this way for several years. When the rent is due and customers are scarce you'll strike it lucky. If the bar is full of Japs you won't even get a wink!

I broke all my rules yesterday and abducted Cindy from cascades...

She left at about 3PM the following afternoon and I believe that this was the best night of sex I have ever had.
(I'm not exaggarating, folks... She was a perfect 10!)

Paid her 3,510 Baht. 3K for her fantastic services, 500b for a cab and 10b for the motorcycle to get her away from my house and on to the main road! If you add the bar fine and all the drinks and food then I spent in exess of 8,000 Baht or $200!

But I'll remember this night (and day) for as long as I live and I don't regret a single dime.

I have never had to pay more than 1500 ST at the Nana bars and that includes stars like Lyla and Areeya. KC3 is a little bit more - about 2000 - as are the girls who work in the cabaret shows.

Reading all this, brings home two things to me :-

1. just how lucky I am to have Kai, who never asks for anything unless I say I want to buy her something.

2. There are no rules for prices only market forces, and lets face it, if the girls decided that 2500Baht was the new standard price for an ST and they all stuck to it, would you go home and have a wank instead - No - you'd pay it because you know its still half the price of the ugly crack-whore you have available in your hometown

as for me, i dont wanna pay so much money for sex that im sure (most of them) are enjoying too. i have been asked for extra cash before, after the deed, and once i gave 1,100 because she was really persistent. obviously, she wasn"t as in love with me as she said..

i can't understand why you would pay them over 1000 baht (not including bar fines and taxi rides if you've requested a girl to come to your place from home). do you think they're living in poverty?

what are they doing with all the money anyway? wasting it on extra cosmetic surgery that makes them look like they just came out of a plastic factory. (whereas you could put it to good use and spend it on more prostitutes.. )

living in thailand and getting even half of what they usuallly get they are doing quite well, they dont need charity, unless you think theyll die without a new nose.

One has to ask the question why?  Since they are not getting better service, not getting intellectual appreciation from the girls, not guaranteed monogomy whilst incountry with their 'special girl'....

I can only think their reason is SELFISH.

Don't try to fool us that you are throwing money around because you like to tip the girl.

        OK.....Brit....happy to see your thoughts here but ummmm,   I would have to respectfully disagree lad.  I rarely leave BKK when I am there...... paying a girl 12 dollars more than you or these other guys isn't to make me feel good or because I am selfish, it's because that is a FAIR price to pay!
