I have  been  running  around the p4p sceen in asia  and the rest of the world for the past26 or so years, visiting such countrys as kenya brazil  argentina philipines thailand indonesia  etv etc.
I feel i have a vast knowledge of  how it all work especially in thailand and indonesia, countrys which i visit often.
I really do wonder how  blokes go who throw the  cash around while persuing  hookiers in the land of smiles???
I for  one am  probibly  called a cheap charlie more than most, i'm not a cheap charlie  and am infact a very generous person, if  a friend is in need.
by a friend i dont mean a bar girl i have know   a couple of  days, i mean someone i trust and have known a long time.
When im in bars, i  will  not leave 40  or so baht  tip everytime i  buy a drink. this is an old trick used by bar staff to vastly increase there tips for the night. usually under the notes  are 3-4  10 baht coins"stupid falanag will leave it." not me,If the change comes back with none of this  crap i  will leave 10--20 baht tip  for a girl who is doing her job( bear in mind tipping is not a thai cultural  thing) head out to the  back boonys and it  just wont happen.
I actually find i get a better reaction from the bar staff if i pick up all the coins and pocket what is  mine."oooooooh falang kinoi maak maak' WITH A HUGE SMILE ON THERE FACE.
on the other hand if you leave all the coins they just walk of and put the money in the jar.just another stupid falang
i have bar fined  heaps of  girls over the years, i never leave a bar without a  price negotiated even if i had the girl last night

"i also  tell the girls what i want in return for my money, and if they agree i bar fine them. shit its a  buyers market  most of the time.
I prefer to pay around 1000- 1500  + bar fine and once i have had the girl i keep her number only if i get on with her and its a fun time. no second chances, there just are too many girls to pick from.i take em back to the room and try to have a good time, but i dont over  do it. alot of girls will ask you to buy smokes and other stuff before you get  to the hotel. no i say lets go room i horny. enough said. after a short time i always pay up and thank the girl.
if she is good and fun i will ring her and bring her directly to my hotel avoiding the outrageous bar fine
 A crap girl will be out the door in seconds, where as a great girl will be allowed to hang for a while and have a drink from the mini bar etc. maybe even room servise if she is hungry. lets face it  great sex puts everyone in a great mood.
I only ever pay what i agree to in the bar and thats it

On many occasions i have had  bar girls  who have rich falang boyfriends  , who pay them  heaps of cash  and gifts, in  the vast majority  of cases they, the girl, really dont seem to give a rats asss about it. I figure they just think the bloke is an easy touch, and can sponge of him as much as they like.1988 was a classic where i had bar fined a girl named  Job a few times from supergirl a gogo in pattaya . she said to me on one occasion
" tonight i cannot stay with you my swiss boyfriend is coming ", to which i replyed
"its ok ill go out with my mates" etc
she then says" leave your door open for me i come  to you at 3am."
ok i say. and decide to play along. sure enough in the morning she is in bed with me, mr 500 baht a night, she shows me the bank book, this  bloke had given ger 20,000 baht for the night.and she is back with me in bed.
I am in no way trying to big note myself hear, me handsum man me big cock. not at all i just see what i see i\it happens so often, they like the guys who make em laugh and who are prepared to do things with them.  mint is another example of this i payed her what i consider a premium rate 3000/ day, in reality she could earn far more by staying in bangkok and web camming and short timing. she chose to come to samui with me. you know the rest of that story.
Blokes offer her huge money and she turns them down??? why why why???
Back to the story about  money. i just dont reckon you get anywhere by splashing heaps of  money around.i feel if you treat em right and fathom them out a little you get a great time at a reasonable cost
Lets remember what a Thai undergraduate can earn a month as a salary> its around 20,000 i believe ?correct me if im wrong/ so 3000 a day is not a  cheap charlie rate its 60.000 a  month..huge money in anyone book if you live in thailand.
what i am trying to say is the rates could get to high to the point where it wont be worth coming over for a sex tour,we are now seeing girls like benz and nung in korat asking$200 an hour, fucking rediculous money in thailand and she gets it for sure? why because some guy comes along and has a short time and then pays he$200 for the plesure, then all of a sudden thats the cost.The pi girls started this $200/hour thing and its now spreading to the thai girls.

Hey Donny... It's good to hear from a soldier who has been on the front line a while. I pretty much go along with everything you have written too.

Mind you; I do tend to tip extra if I have had a great time and I like the girl.

I also don't think that tourists hemorrhaging money and wildly overpaying is gonna upset the balance of things too much. There are girls and punters for all ends of the payscale.

Not every one is travelling on a budget or even cares about the rates.

The average wage in the city of London is now £100,000 for example. Do you think these guys who go to BKK are worried about giving a 500 baft tip to a waitress in K3 or paying 3K for a short time!.

Yes its true, the Nat Office of Statistics published this today thats why i mentioned it. In outer London its only 34K. The average is skewed a bit as some guys are on 1mill+.

Actually, I would have guess the number in the City was higher than that. It certainly is on Wall Street.

Don't forget, Mr. Bear, no one is paying their employees that kind of money for their good looks or because they're nice folks. Commercial institutions are paying employees that kind of money because they're bringing in much more money than that and the employer is making a profit on their salary. If they weren't, they'd be out on their ass in a blink. In my experience, there's very little sentiment in the high finance biz.

So don't blame the guys who pull down that kind of cash. They're just creaming off a tiny sliver of the river of money that pours through the City and Wall Street everyday.

On my first trip i feel for not negote price before i left the bar and was almost burnt . I took two they where clever a nd one did the talking whilst the other smiled.
They tried to tell me 5000 baht for a short time was stanard for a dble they did not like when i offered them 1500 baht. The service was not worth that more a 1000 each. In the bars i had protection as monkey man being well known helped.
Next trip more wiser.

People keep saying this but I never see any evidence of this. I have not really seen the prices change much other the past 3 years. I know the 555 crowd might pay more than the average punter but does seem to have effected the average punter.

I have seen various places throughout the world where japanese money plays a part my experence in thailand is limited so it may be different i do not if is or is not.

All i know i can not afford to play golf on courses i played when younger because japanese company owns then and the the yearly fees are so high and green fees are a mans average weekly pay.

I work in London and yes the salaries are high - BUT the cost of living is ridiculous. Most of that 100K GBP is spend on some seedie bed-sit.

BUT a very very valid point. Control your spending and negogiate well... otherwise the prices in Thailand will increase dramatically.

Do you know a TS escort in london can easily make 1,000 - 1,500 per evening. That is with one client.

there is another thread covering much of this topic, about ats' influence on the prices & attitude.
the upscale marked will be, and has already, been somewhat destroyed by round-handed farangs. it's like the street-vendors in patpong, they are not very keen on bargaining, cos they knew there will be a newbie-sucker farang around the corner.
many of the superstars stay faithful to their prices 2-3000K shortime, but many take whatever they can if there are some kind of bizarre chemistry(i had arreya for 700b, and she was great in every way).
still we having nothing to fear though, since there are so many to choose from and the prices go down dramatically during low-season.
an interesting poll would be, how many would visit thailand if the short time prices was 7000-10.000b?

If the girl is good and I like her and I think that I might take her again, I usually add a few baht to the total...
The difference between 1500 and 2000 bhat ST is not that much as a thank you and certainly makes the second visit even better than the first...If it makes the girl happy....

And, on second visits with a girl, she might get dinner and/or a trip to another bar or disco...

If it is a LT arrangement, it also includes breakfast and perhaps a trip to MBK...and what is 200 or 300 bhat for a pair of shoes or a cheap purse or sunglasses or whatever, and maybe a movie and dinnner...

I apologize to you all that if in some small way I'm contributing to rising costs...but I doubt it...

I'm in LOS to enjoy myself and enjoy the girls not count pennies...
