I think Brit has a valid point however my experience of the LB's is that treat them nice and you 'could' pretty much give them anything and they will have no objections. Heck first time I went with Jay - she left without any money as I was still asleep and she did not want to wake me despite it being gone 2 in the afternoon. Even after that I gave her my standard amount for an all night which I have subsequently found out is considerably less than she would normally accept for a ST She has never saids its an issue and now she is the one who is getting inundated and I mean inundated with offers of 10,000 B for guys who want to go with her. If I were her, I would be biting their arm off for that much money but she seems very blase about it. As I said before, a lot of the time its the fault of the guys who think throwing money at someone will buy something - the reality is, sure they may take it, but does not mean they would have gone for 20% of what was offered. Each to their own, but I do believe it does not really slant the girls thinking one way or another - if she likes the guy, the money is secondary to how much fun she has in my humble opinion. This is particularly the case with girls who have a lot in the bank account already - and I mean when 10,000 baht is not going to make much of an impact on their balance - trust me on this, many many LB's who are smart have heaps of money in the bank thanks to guys who believe they are impressed by offers of 10k etc - personally i think they feel much happier with a guy who will walk down the street holding their hand and treating them well.

I think you missed the focus of his rantings Mardhi...the issue isn't paying a girl 10.000 baht when she normally charges 1500 baht...we all know that's stupid...

Brit's problem is with guys like me that tip the girl an extra 500 baht over and above the 1500/2000/3000 baht charge, or take them for a drink or dinner or a disco or take them shopping and buy some inexpensive gifts....

His contention is that folks like me (I'm a baby eating yank) are ruining the Thai ecomony and will cause the ladies to increase their prices beyond the reach of all...

And many of us are saying that we are simply traveling to LOS to have an adult holiday and fulfill a fantasy...I don't believe anyone here is throwing 10,000 baht at these girls for ST or LT...

I think Brit believes that the more we pay the more the girls expect.

It's not true that prices will spiral out of control.

Most of us know the top Thai girls work for Jap clubs in Thong Lor where whitey here would not even be allowed in! They get hundreds of thousands of Baht because their English is great and they know how to fuck.

On the other end of the scale are the skanks hanging out at Nana at 4am looking for money to buy yabaa!

It's the same with everything... There are nice hotels and dives. There's Thai street food or Tony romas... There is class action and dirty mingers... beer from the minimart and beer in the bars...

Nothing's ever gonna change in Thailand - I promise you that!

As a young man I worried about the amt. of money I spent because I didn't have much $33.00 every two weeks.
   Now I am old, fat, and bald and the girls love me as much now as then and I will not worry about driving the price of puss or ass up.
   Since 1998 the price of a short time has risen from 500bht to 1500bht the bar fines have escalated from around 200-300bht to 500-t0 600bht. of course these will vary upon the bar and location. Also beer has risen to over 100bht a bottle in some bars from around 60-70bht
    Guess what it is called the cost of living it is on the rise every where, even in good old Thailand.

I'll say one more little bit (even though I lied and said I wouldn't some time back)...it is interesting to me that a simple discussion about money---spending money or not spending money and our own money at that--- would incite such great passion in folks...

In some ways it's a pity that we don't show the same degree of passion for some issue that might really matter...And I don't know, perhaps some of you do in other places, but I suppose that's not the subject matter for this forum..

Passion can make smart folks appear foolish and foolish folks appear smart...And passion allows us all to feel, but certainly clouds our views of the world...And it seems to me, that when passion overrules reason we end up with fire...kinda like we have in this thread...and that's not necessarily a bad thing...

No remedy...just my thoughts...

I try to find out the going rate in the locality and pay either the going rate or slightly more if I'm so inclined.  

I'm not concerned about ruining it for guys I've never met.  I'm more concerned with the girl in my bed than some guy in a far off land. But if everyone paid more than the going rate then there would be a new going rate.

Some girls realize that great service brings repeat business.  Others just really aren't into it and I certainly can't blame them.

Sit your ass down in any American..or Western type of club/bar/disco and try to get the attention of the hot, well built, sexy 20-30 yr old girls at the place.........do any even give you a second look? I'd love to believe that there was more than $$$ in the minds of the Thai girls, but I have to say I can't remember the last time I received even a glance from a non-working girl in a "normal" club. It would be nice to believe that the Asian culture cares less about age difference than the Western culture.....but a chance to improve one's financial situation OR, to actually get a falang to help her escape to the Western world as his "wife" or "girlfriend" is an attractive motivator for her.

When it is all said and done and I'm 6 feet under, pushing up daiseys, maybe that is OK........let me live out my remaining years with a sexy, young Asian girl, with a smile on my face.....she got what she wanted..........I got what I wanted.....Ok time to schedule my next LOS trip, I've thoroughly rationalized my love of the girls and their attitudes towards me......Aloha

I think no matter how we dislike it, the train has left the station and nobody can stop it. The Japanese are there, the guys who go there only once in 10 years are there, and the guys who just get the largest bonus in his lifetime are there. So what can you do? I too want to complain about the price of Mercedes Benze (ironically we've got a girl with that name) but it is what it is. I got tosay this is the reason we have the "do they like us" thread... these Thai girl just behave so differently from the western "working girls", we don't know what they are actually thinking ... and this is why some fall for the girls while they were just being polite ...
LOS is really a place where GFE easily go too far...

As an Asian I do not really agree with the notion of "age difference" is less important in "our" culture. Then agin, I am not Thai and I am not a ladyboy so my view is not 100% acurate either.
The LB sexuality throw another twist here - you got remember LBs do not get 20 something boyfriends committing to them lik GGs do. So you can't blame some guys "mis-calculate" their positions.
All in all, I just hope we all keep a cool head when it comes to financial matters. Sometime a feelow go to LOS to find the cheapest laids and come back with the most expensive romance. That's a shame,

Man, I hate to break this piece of news to you but you cannot take the forum too seriousely.
Yes, you can when it provides you good information and practical advices. However, you need to remember the posters here are anonymous... they (I belong to "they") don't really care that much. So you have to cheer up, take only 70% of face values, still rely on your own common sence to live your life... (isn't that sad...)
I was caught in the heat so many times I develope a "if I don't know him I don't care" attitude. ATS satffs are different... they are running a business here.
