Ive met people from phillipines, thailand and indonesia who would knock that theory (or fact as you say) on its arse. (and im assuming they're the kind of countries you're referring to)

dont get grumpy because i make a comment. if your going to bag people for being derogitory about the 3rd world then you should bag people for doing it to weston countrys. i just used uk as an example it could be japan us uk aussie canada etc.No country should be bagged for a racial or any other reason.

and yeah, i wouldnt be impressed if someone was seriously saying the same thing about people from other countries that i knew about, like japan and aus, and would probably make similar comments.

We should not assume Mark did not know this. we should not assume Mark did not get himself prepared either. Finally, we should not pretend that we know 100% for sure that Ex was in it for money.
We do know, that even with the best intentions from both Mark and Ex, this thing still has a good chance to end in a heartbreak. And as nice guys,   , we should just stay polite and wish them the best of luck. They do need it. I see this thread as the "do they like us, part II". You really have to admit there are obstacles in all fronts, however; picking on one aspect only (that Ex being a bar girl before) is just not fair.

I think ... because each person has his own agenda. People actually want it to work out or not, so they can justify their own actions psycologically.
Naysayers can not/dare not/want not to have an LB fulltime relationship so they secretly want this to not work, so they can have a "I told you so" in their conversations with themselves. I think if Ex was not so well known in the bar scenes, other "excuses" would be used to "analyze" why this is a marriage made in hell.
On the other hand, people who voted yes (and may I say they are a bit "passionate" when expressing themselves. ) are likely to be one who is in/contemplating/has the luxury to have a relationship with Thai LBs. They want this to work out for obviouse reasons. And anything from naysayers are big threats that they have to fight back strongly.
The thing with Internet, and forums on the Internet, is - it's really not a conversation, it's many people doing monologues on the same topic ....
