Lady Drinks: The great debate!

Since I'm in a realationship and not on the prowl I'm not buying ladydrinks these days. But from talking to my mates on holiday and remembering my old single days this is how I think most guys feel about ladydrinks:

Guys actually like buying ladydrinks BUT

1) they hate being asked to buy ladydrinks; the guys want to initiate the buying, and

2) guys hate these little glasses of cola or orange crap. The punters want to buy a proper drink, be it alcoholic or a soft drink. These little glasses of flat cola just ruin the illusion and feels cheesy.

I noticed this is Obsession's (BKK), I bought a few ladydrink's in there and its a little puny glass of Coke that costs the earth   , but what infuriated me even more is that the girls didnt even bother drinking it  

If I buy them a drink at them prices I would expect it to be a decent one and I dont mind paying the extra for a bottle of say Bacardi Breezer for example ( JSB excepted ), at least its a drink

No point in them drinking the real stuff... seen some boxing matches in the past when this happened... keep them on the cola

Lets face it the drink is really just a Taxi meter in disguise... i dont have a problem with it...the Cola just gives the hostess fee an air of respectibility

In Taiwan ive seen hostess bars where they actually have a Taxi type Metre thats running by the table..pay to talk.. it was some years ago but i reckon they still exist

I will actually ask the girl what it is she will be drinking for her Lady drink and if its one of those flat cokes or tiny orange juices I dont bother, they usually always have a proper drink when asked, I would rather tip her direct for her time than pay an exorbitant price that the bar gets the major share of for one of these pathetic beverages.
 Also if the girl asks for a drink I generally dont buy it at that time,maybe a little later when she realises the error of her ways.

Yes the Bars are in Business to make money and profit but that is of little concern to me, they get enough of my money as it is,if one Bar goes broke another poor sap will be waiting in the wings to make his fortune as a Bar Owner the following week.
I understand the principal of the transaction, I just believe it should be of  an apropriate product for the cost charged.(not necessarily alcohol, maybe fruit juice or a soda of standard size)
 I am not against Lady drinks where the bar and the girl get their share of the punters money, I do however believe that the beverage should be something reasonable to extract the money from the Punter.
 A glass with one inch of flat cloa in it is not worthy of my donation, and as for the Bars profitability, lol, lets just say i will not lose sleep over their margins falling.

I dont mind buying lady drinks whatever they me be, what i dont like is when your constantly hit on for them, you could be enjoying a chat with a potential companion and her mate comes up rubs your shoulders and expects a drink ! no way.
i have started to be a little choosey to whom gets a drink these days and dont care if im called for it, but end of the day, im the boss with the baht.
if these girls didnt expect as much as they do im sure they would benifit alot more, as the non pushy approach gets alot more.

I love handing out ladydrinks.  Shit, I love ringing the godforsaken bell.  I'm on holiday, so let's get this party started, goddammit!

But asking for one has become a near automatic "no."  In my experience, the ones that ask are always the least deserving, and usually just testing how little work they need to do. But if she does a little song and dance and contributes to the fun, and is around long enough, well then she's almost assured a little drinkipoo.

there is a code involved with the lady drink in certain bars, i.e - cascades.
once there is lady drink present , none of the others are allowed to aproach you.
its what we as kids would say "bagsy". she bagsied you first.
hence the others wave and try to get your attention from a distance, which can be fun.

Like most others - I will buy a LD for the girl I want to sit with me and is giving me her undivided attention and is a bit of fun. I will never buy a LD for a girl who asks (I have in the past but not again)
