a good deal is an apartment-style hotel called something like "italian pizzeria"(ive been there 3 times, but i always forget the name), its in rat-u-thit rd opposite christine body massage. no pool though, but its only 500b/day and the rooms are quite big too.

ive stayed at the ex-pat hotel, it was ok for about 800b low-season, has pool, and close to bangla.

another place to look for expats who like lbs are at the katoys-r-us cabaret.

If you fancy pushing the boat out and spend a little bit more the baanyindee hotel is great€¦.out of the action but limos on hand to take you wherever you want at anytime€¦€¦GGs, LBs, as many as you want no problem joining you at no cost€¦..a great place but a little more pricey€¦€¦just an idea. Billy, that LB Pong€¦..pre or post?......Haven€™t seen her there before but intend to check her out asap when there in a few weeks.

I don't know what your budget is but you should try the Busarari (sp???) in Patong it is great

Most, if not all, hotels, have bookings that don't show up. Don't be too worried. Show up, walk along the streets and there is little chance you won't get a place.

hey paris-eric...i was in october at the avantika...very nice boutique hotel...quiet..at the end of the beach road
very guest friendly...clean nice rooms..i liked it and will go back..

Avantika is very romantic - but you have to make sure every night is "fully scheduled". There is no point staying in this place alone ...

Has any one stayed at one of the following hotels: Orchid Residence, K Hotel or Harry's Beach Hotel? I know they are guest friendly, but would like a little more input by someone who has stayed there. Thanks!

I have stayed at K-Hotel. Great location, nice pool, wireless internet (in some of the rooms, not all, if I remember), had lb's in my room no problem.

The 'standard' rooms are, well, standard. OK, but nothing special. They have 'better' rooms at the front - but again, OK but nothing special. Price is about right for what you get.

Good menu at the restaurant, but a couple of the rooms at the front are right beside the kitchen......and they start work LONG before you want to wake up probably, so if ur light sleeper watch out for that.

I would definitely stay there again

Sunhill is also an excellent hotel, but not in the heart of Patong Beach, very guest friendly, stayed there loads of times. Check it out

Good little hotel that's guest friendly, quiet location that's close to the action, has good staff and well worth staying there.

I have been to Thailand many times, but have never went to Phuket. I might go there next month for a change of pace. Anybody have any suggestions on cheap hotels near the action?
