I have stayed at KohJoy before. Very nice, close to the action. I have also stayed at Soi SanSabai bungalows. Little more of a walk (like 1 minute, ). There was construction going on next door, but that was over 2 years ago so might be better now. I like places with private enterances. This coming trip I am planning to stay at Rendez Vous hotel. All places have been discussed on the forum before.

I'll second the Rendezvous. It's right across the soi from The Place To Stay. Very private, at night there's no one on duty and you use your key card to enter the lobby, so no guests are no problema. Would recomend you get a Superior Room or better as the Standard is quite small and only 100 baht cheaper. Rooms are much nicer than they look on the website.

Neither the Rendezvous nor The Place To Stay has a pool. No big deal cause a minute away is the Royal Paradise and the day rate for using their extremely fancy pool is only 100 baht so you're still under budget at either place.

Location, Location, Location

You know where it is? RIGHT opposite Cocktails & Dreams! Incrediably guest friendly, virtually brand new. Nice rooms, good air con/TV etc. Rooms a quite spacious, VERY friendly staff.

Short time rooms are on the 1st/US 2nd and long term stay is 2nd/US 3rd floor.

Don't worry about the noise at night because you will be out in it. Nice and quiet on the Tiger side during the day, a little noiser on the C & D side because of current construction work.

Edit:
If there is a negative it's that the C&D girls can watch who you take in and out as the only exit is right opposite them. No in room safes although they are going to get them sometime this year.

Excellent location. i prefer the Rendezvous across the soi though. Book Superior Rooom or better cause Standard is small.

I stayed there in Jan. Had the top floor-suite- room 5- I think. Very roomy. If you tend to drink a bit much, may I suggest you take a 2nd floor suite- it's a long way up to the top.

The Patong Villa looks like a pretty good place too.

I have stayed at "The Place to Stay" and thought it was great. But this trip (end of April - early May) I will be trying out Rendez Vous. Looks like a few of us will be down there at the same time. Any one up for a beer? Golf?

Upper market, try Patong Bay Garden Resort, only hotel on the beach, literally. But its about 2500+. Or Tropica (not Tropicana), private, decent sized bungalows, beautiful setting, 3000. Both about 50m from Bangla.

Im staying at the Royal Paradise for my 1st 2days as i got it with my flight maybe i can sneak in undetected after i check out lol as for Rendevouz i booked a delux as the standard looked a tad small... Thanks for the heads up....

nice and clean and usually the night security guy gives you the Thumbs up when you bring back a hot ladyboy!
