Never had any problems with Tom nor with his establishment. When he said he couldnt accomodate on the days i was going i felt lost lol... I always stay there Same as my hotel in Pattaya ive only ever stayed there since i found the place, if they told me they were fully booked id contemplate changing my dates lol You find a nice place that treats you right no hassle and no your habbits, its nice....

(pentire @ Aug. 06 2009,08:54) Yes there are a few strict'ish housekeeping rules at ThePlaceToStay which some guys seem to have fallen out with Tom over and as a result, I understand they are persona non grata or were asked to leave
I'm talking about common sense stuff like locking the front door after seeing your ladyboy depart the premises and switching the AC off when going outside or while your room windows are open.....in other words, a similar fashion to which you would behave back home.
A bit of common sense and courtesy seems to by-pass some people
Tom's a "cool dude" in my book and I must have been alright because he's letting me stay there againYour got yer Mother in a whirl
Shes not sure if your a Boy or a Girl

Hello Guys, I just discovered this thread this afternoon and will say a few words here.
First, we are definitely still open here in Patong Beach.
Second, Pentire is correct, I do ask people to lock the door and turn off the AC as he says.
Third, I am taking a long overdue trip back home to the USA to visit my family and friends there. It has been about 4 1/2 years since going. Therefore, I have blanked out that time for bookings during my absence. Please feel free to send inquiries, and I will either be here, or refer you to a friend's establishment nearby that I recommend.
Fourth, I have been fully booked during the Christmas - New Years holiday season since last June. I am not trying to pick and choose my customers.
I sincerely do appreciate all of the members here who have supported "The Place To Stay" and welcome all who make reasonable requests to stay. I am looking forward to meeting many more who will visit Patong Beach, Phuket in the future.
Best wishes to all, Tapioca

I decided to return to Phuket just to see how Place To Stay looks like since C&D was already my first and only €œPlace To Stay€ during the nights of my last stay. I heard only good reviews from all the guys on forums and from C&D owners. So in a few short months (4 to be exact ) I€™ll be there to report.
About Yorkshire Inn; I was there last time and although pool is really great and lobby/restaurant posh rooms are extremely small. To small for me, my bags and Oh from C&D to fit in.

Theplacetostay: very much open, although tom the owner, is away until the end of October and is not taking bookings that month.
Adonis: Forget it. I was shown the one decent room in the place. The rest of it is a shithole, and at the dodgy end of the soi too.
Rendezvous: Confusion over the "guest" policy : ie is there a charge or not? Will try to clear that up with the owner this week. Good clean rooms, but again, trade up to superior.
Liontchai: Very good, free internet, and its own discreet entrance.
Yorkshire Inn: English owned (bit of a pompous arse in my opinion), good facilities, but the standard rooms are way to small.
Summer Breeze: excellent, although you most certainly dont want a room at the front, facing soi sansabai - you'll never get to sleep!

try the international hotel, 20 meters down from tpts and cheap and good sized clean rooms and guest friendly.

by any chance do you know the room rates for this International Hotel?
I have already booked the Adonis but Jimbo's post above is making me have second thoughts...

The noise problem comes from the bars at the far end of Sansabai..would never stay in any of the hotels opposite again.
