A very  good hotel. Highly reccomended for those on long stays.  Initially booked for 3 days and maybe try other hotels in walking street but was impressed, so extended my last 2days with them. The room was clean, wifi available but the most important is the service from the staff there is just excellent. The only drawback for me is the location of the hotel which is at the near end of soi 15. Sure, there are the in-house tuk tuk and the bath buses but its still a little far away and it took sometime for newbie like me to find out that the bath bus can actually stop at the avenue  .

Photo from a couple weeks ago from roof top of PBR...entrance to the Avenues top right...but you can now walk along the cement pathway, shown between the tops of the 2 big trees, at the left end of the Avenues building and go directly to 2nd Road.

Also notice the construction workers starting to erect the metal fence around the vacant lot separating the PBR and the Avenues...they should have cleared the trees and started construction on whatewer in earnest by now...light sleepers might want to send an email and make sure their rooms are facing the "garden".

Garden side getting trees cut for something. Soi 15 side already has heavy machinery. And I was there during the construction on the bay side and it woke me up.

I stayed at PBR for first time my last trip. As I only bought one guest with me, never had a problem with a "joiner" fee.... I did have an immediate issue with the hot water heater, which was rapidly taken care of with a call to front desk, and the service tech replaced the guts of the heater. After that, had decent hot water as compared with other places in Pattaya that I have stayed. Internet worked good for what I wanted, pool was decent and could take laptop up there and get connected as well.....rooms were decent, and Aircon worked well.......yes, it does get cold in the room but again, this is no different than other places I have stayed at.....either fairly cold (especially for a thai) or really hot. Only real drawback to the hotel that I saw was just how far it was away from places I wanted to be at, like walking street. Yes, they have a tuk-tuk that will take you to second road for free......and will come and get you as well....but still not as easy to get to as other places.

I stayed on the front side of hotel toward second road, and was not bothered by the construction that was across the street. Of course, if there is new construction that will now take place directly in front of PBR, that could be a show stopper for me. Thanks for that heads up, I am going to email Yuphin tonight and make sure I get a room on the backside.....

The 'major construction site' in front of the PBR is something slightly different, as of mid May 2009.  No noise - just corrugated steel living quarters for construction workers.

See pic - for comparison to view in earlier post.  The open air 'washroom facility' is on the right of the compound! (making me very content with the privacy of my ensuite facility).

Can't speak for what's happening at the rear of the hotel, but everything at PBR up to normal high standard (including the chicken noodle soup for breakfast   ).  OK this place is not ideally located for those who want to be 'at the heart of the action', and you can get a place a bit cheaper.  But as the occupancy % is high, it seems the management have got their fingers on the pulse for Pattaya price comparisons. Value for money @ 999 baht, and friendly staff too.

And it's only a short stroll to Stringfellows on 13/1

I booked a 2 week stay at the PBR from 09/06 to 23/06..read all these posts about the 500bt deposit fee, still a bit confused...so do u pay 500 or more for a 2 week stay, then after stay do u pay full amount and get 500 back or is it subtracted from yr bill when u pay by cc after you've finished yout stay, and if u r a late riser, and decide to miss breakfasts altogether, do u get smaller daily rate of yr room...Finally any other BMS gonna be in Pattaya around these dates wanna catch up for a few heinies and LB chasing ?

Spending a few days here to relax after the streess of Hong Kong.

It's like home and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Pattaya.

I had 15 days in the PBR before and after the Big Bash my first stay at this location. Generally I give it my tick of approval The absence of a minibar is possibly a blessing in disguise. It just means that onr has to plan ahead with ones shopping for drinks and nocturnal munchies. The walk to the nearest 7/11 is a bit of a drag no problem for fit young pricks like Ivor Foggy Big Tel etc. The free breakfast is pretty basic. I think I read that you can get a discount off the room rate and go without breakfast If this is so then that is the way to go and get your arse and 110 baht over to the nearby Lek hotel in Second Rd where you can pig out on the buffet and vyou wont think of food for at least ten hours. One minor complaint I divide my time between L/Bs and G/Gs I became friendly with Cat the G/G who runs the airport pick up service. She in turn is friends with another G/G who shared my cot on a number of occasions.b Both become aware of my "dark side"when chatting with the girls at reception .A bit of discretion would not go astray

I agree and you are not the only one who has been caught out by the wagging tongues of the reception staff.

I've told Kim about it but evidently it still happens.

Very frustrating and a good reason to keep a lot of hotels in rotation.

I neglected to mention the rather nice pen they gave me on my birthday! This may or may not be common practice in Thai hotels . I dont know still it was a nice gesture and much appreciated.

The PBR is a mongers paradise..............they look after us well and I would not stay anywhere else in south Pattaya as it ticks all my boxes..........and it sure feels like home to me........

And something else to consider....our LB's like it too..............no hassle and I'm sure they have a frequent Flyer card for them...........................
My idea of foreplay is getting my wallet out......
