I just got offered a great deal from flightcentre.com.au

Duist Pattaya which is a pretty top end joint for $52.00 aust per night, buffet breaky included. I have stayed there in 1998 and it was great. Its out of the way a little at North Pattaya but if u want style, a private beach and great swiming pools and bars, this is good stuff. When i was there it was guest friendly and my travel agent says they only charge guest fee for 3rd person. This rate is for July only. I was gonna stay some where else but am now gonna stay here at this rate.

I know the sunshine hotel but never stayed there. Do they have an in-house massage? I must admit I do like the Flipper Lodge because the in house one hour oil massage for 300 baht is just a nice way to relax, then hit the pool. Plenty of time to do other things later.

if you want to be closer to walking street (and right near stringfellows) Inn House is ok and has massage, opposite Sandy Springs is a step up in class but not sure if has massage.

neither are as good value as sunshine though or as nice as sabai inn

                    • You were right billy, i walked in and got room no problem. I only paid for one night initially as first experience of pattaya wasnt good. When reception phoned me to see if i was booking out and i turned around to see the lovely kiki lying naked and erect next to me, i decided to stay another night at least. Which is when the recetionist decided to explain that it is another 600 baht per night if a guest stays over, and i would have to pay extra for last night.

Didnt have the head to argue there and then so after breakfast went to recption and no one owned up to the conversation and therfore didnt pay any joiner fee for the week i stayed there.

But what was the point of the call?

                        • Jasmine Hotel

High Season rates 1 Oct - 20 April
                          550 Baht/night Std Room,
                          700 Baht/night Deluxe
                          750 Baht/night Superior/Superior+ Room

Low season rates 21 April - 30 Sept.
                          500 Baht/night Std room
                          700 Baht/night Deluxe/Superior room
                          750 Baht/night Superior + room.

Main difference is that Std rooms on ground floor, Deluxe/Superior/Superior+ rooms on floor 2-4. No elevator, so good idea to be in shape if you want to stay in higher floor rooms (3-4).

Location is: Jasmine Hotel, 547/34 M.10. Soi BJ Walking Street, Nongpure, Banglamung, Chonburi 20260, Thailand

If you are a fan of Jenny Star Bar, it is only about 150 feet away, just down Soi BJ. Soi BJ is almost directly opposite Jenny Star Bar on Walking Street.

Just recently changed the restaurant to Mexican Theme. Called Sunset Cantina.

Very guest friendly! Also free wifi access. Best connections on ground floor - but they are working to improve the network. Has Pattaya cable tv. Good AC in rooms, also have sink, minibar, hot plates, with plates/cutlery. Rooms are clean, well kept. Hotel is about 8 months old.

I have stayed there twice now, in Aug and Oct. Happy both times.

No in room safe, but central safe deposit boxes, no pool.

Here's something I noticed at a small hotel about 50 m down the street from Stringfellow's - same side of the street. Can't remember the name. But they had a sign posted - "No Ladymen Allowed in the Rooms"

Obviously not LB-friendly with the use of the term "Ladymen" !!!

have two places that i stay at and both are ladyboy friendly, first one is nova lodge, its at the corner of central and beach road, if you were a regular at the mr. 99 shrimp bar this was the ideal hotel, breakfast is excellent no hassles by the staff not even an odd look, price was 32 american dollars a night, great pool still my favorite.

                              NOVA LODGE

137 MOO 9, Central Pattaya Road, Pattaya City
                              Phone 038-420 016

The second one is the one i have been using on my last two trips, it's the beverly plaza hotel, stogie will have to give you the exact street name, this place is about 19 american dollars a night good breakfast but if you book here make sure you tell them you want a double other wise they charge you a 300 baht guest fee when you bring your honey thru the door, they'll ask you for the name, it really doesn't matter who you give i usually use ethel merman

                              Hotel Beverly Plaza

59/35, Phratamnak Road, South Pattaya Cholburi 20260

I stayed at the Nova Lodge during the last trip.
Great location, at corner of Central and Beach Road, just a couple of minutes walk to Soi7 and Soi 8. And to Tops for some groceries, open 24hrs.
The hotel is "U" shaped, with a nice pool in the middle, booked a standard room for 2 people, same price as for single occupancy (THB900) except that it came with 2 welcome drinks, and voucher for breakfast for 2

                              Plus:
                              + Location
                              + Pool
                              + Breakfast included
+ Card for 10% discount in the resturant by the beach run by the hotel
+ Friendly manager (he's french, speak to him in français and you've got a pal)

                              Minus:
                              - no safe in room
                              - rooms (run down and in desperate need of refurbishing)
                              - some staff haughty and not so friendly

i stayed at the nova for only one night on my last trip. had no trouble bringing beam and joy back to the room for a few hours - no fee, no hassle - but the 'minus' of it being such a rundown old dump with thread-bare towels and peeling paint...well, next night i went to the penthouse. loved it. but then it got a rep for having bedbugs. so then i went to sunshine residence and...
                                ahhhhhh
my new home away from home
although i'm looking at their 'peak' season rates and they're about 40% higher than i paid this past may so.... i don't know.
still less than i'm paying in bkk at the dynasty grande, so probably just go for it...
