    Hotel Name: P72
    Room Rate: 550/650
Location: Walking street on the left side right after soi diamond if heading to jenny star bar

Guest friendly?/charge? last time i took a lb to this place was back in 2003, no charge. stayed there 2 days in august and paid no charge for ggs

A personal review: perfect location, and cheap. the renovated rooms are nice. only 100b more for the big rooms. the difference is that you will have a view of either walking str or soi p72, rather than looking into a brick wall. i think they have a few non-renovated rooms left for short times (they have a bar downstairs). overall nice staff, room service until midnight and the safety box downstairs can be used 08-24.
right outside in walking there is a paharmacy and family mart in soi diamond. they also have tour-bookings, taxi-booking etc. no pool, but roof terrace with a nice view of walking street. the bar downstairs play some annoying live music but that is the only negative thing i can come up with.

          Diamond Beach Hotel
          499 Moo 10,
          Beach Road,
          South Pattaya
          ph: +66 38 429-885

Stayed at Diamond Beach Hotel over a weekend recently. Great location at the top of Soi Diamond off the middle of Walking Street. Hotel website is not currently operational so booked through Sawadee.com and paid THB1100 for a deluxe double. Room standard quite reasonable with a big bed, cable tv and with a view over the sea. The bathrooms are a bit small and the hotel is getting a bit old but all fittings and fixtures were in good condition. Noise not a problem as go-go bars in the Soi close at 1am. Very guest friendly, although they take guest's id card but then ring your room when your guest leaves, to make sure everything is okay. Nice breakfast area overlooking the indoor pool. Hotel has a rooftop spa overlooking the ocean. Hotel has in house body massage/sauna and you can find the Limmatquoi Bar just outside front door, Jenny Star Bar a 5 min walk down the street!

This place looks really good. I was particularly attracted by the "what's nearby" on this page!!
            http://www.precisionreservations.com/hotelda....d=12125

            What's nearby ?
            Chai mongkhon temple

            Well, that's ok then!!

            Pla/Billy - some questions:

            1. What is the difference between the standard, superior, and deluxe rooms?
            2. It says fast internet in room...is this correct?
            3. It says room safe, but Pla said no room safe???

I didn't have any Room safes in the Superior Class, and it was the New Building.
              I think this is wrong.
Nearby is Soi 8 with a lot of Go Go Bars, so i sayed this could be a problem for guys who are looking for a quit place.
Soi 8 is definetly not quite it's right at the action
I didn't see any Internet in the room, but in the Hotel is a Internet cafe with fast Connection
I would go for a Superio room, because the standard rooms are at the Old Building, with the emphasis on OLD Building

I have just had about 6 nights in the Sunshine, it was my first stay in the hotel & was on a recomendation from 69Billy, I was fed up the places i had been staying in previous years. I stayed in the residence wing & there were no safes in the room but i put everything in the hotel safety boxs in receiption.
It was an excellent stay & it has very useful facilities close by, if you can't be bothered to shave yourself, the girl in the beauty salon downstairs is very good at it, there is an internet cafe in the same block next door, theres an ATM right outside, travel shop, even the restaurant cafe has nice cheap food. The pools were nice & clean. The staff were polite, friendly & helpful. In fact a real nice experience alround. Its right in the action, Soi 8 & 7, there are GG's & LB's what more could you ask!

                    Thanks for the recomendation 69Billy.
                    Robin

You pays your money & takes your chance. This isn't a rehearsal do it now, it's no good looking back when it's a lover & wishing.... ITS TOO LATE.

                              Casa Espana Condominium
                              397 M 12 Pratamnak Rd, Cosy Beach, Pattaya. tel ( 038 ) 250 480

This place is a little gem. It is a 7 story Spanish style building 1 street from the beach. Its across the road from some really great 5 star hotels. They rent by the night but per month( 31 days ) is only 6000 baht plus electric. There is a fantastic roof top pool where u can see for miles and u are over looking the home of where the Royal Princess stays on holidays.
For any one who hasn't been to Cosy Beach ( sandwiched between Pattaya and Jometein, grab your sweetie and get her to take u there. The place is relaxed with a few great cafes and pubs. Motor cycle taxi is 20 baht to the main road then 10 baht bus into sin city.
24 hour guard and 25 baht he will love u for life. No probs with visitors. Next door is pool halls and some local food hangouts .\
There is a laundry run by Pommy Steve and a internet cafe and cafes all run by my English cousins.

Guys this is really a great place to cool of during the day before u run the guntlet of sin city. Enjoy

                                Welcome Plaza Hotel

I ended up staying here by random chance, they were the first hotel to have a room available on Dec 30th when everyone else was full.

The hotel itself is well maintained, but a bit old. i.e. everything worked and it was clean, but some of the fixtures are showing their age. The one notable exception was the bed which was obviously newer than the rest of the room and in excellent shape (and thats what really matters).

The location is very good, on 2nd street a few blocks north of South Pattaya Road and and only a few minutes walk from Walking street. Getting back to the hotel from Walking street is even easy since the songkkow buses will take you right there.

There was no joiner fees (but be safe and ask - like I did), but they are very strict about checking IDs. One girl I brought back did not have one, and I had to give her some money to get in a bike and go get her ID.

Other notes: Some of the rooms have a terrace-you'll have to ask. The pool looks really nice - but I didn't go. There is no safe in the room, but they do have security boxes downstairs.

I paid 1500, but looking on the web I see rates as low as 800 Baht during "normal" times.

Next time I go to Pattaya I will try staying here again.
