(--dummy_plug @ Dec. 18 2005,15:26) I'm thinking of going there in early January - anyone had experience at the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya?

The only problem with the Welcome Plaza, ( If its the place I am thinking of..!! ) it is the favoured hotel for American Servicmen on R & R, while I don't have a problem with that. They seem to have a problem with LB's, I have certainly had alot of abuse thrown at me by American servicemen, mostly well drunk because i am not fitting into there neat idea of "boy / girl" thing. So i don't stay there anymore!Robin
You pays your money & takes your chance. This isn't a rehearsal do it now, it's no good looking back when it's a lover & wishing.... ITS TOO LATE.

just had a stay in pattaya here's where i stayed:
sunshine hotel soi 7- excellent hotel, but i imagine some rooms may be noisy (?), had to leave early as it was booked up, manager and one or two of the reception staff had bad attitudes but other than that highly recommended.
eastiny place soi 7- nice hotel but NOT LADYBOY FRIENDLY!
high five hotel soi 7- very old and run down, lacking facilities (but does have a pool), not very clean. had 2 stays here: one room was acceptable, one was a shocker (noisy, mouldy, dirty). only stayed here as all hotels i checked were full on soi 7.
sabai inn soi 2- excellent hotel, massive beds, very nice rooms, great staff.

I know its a little way out of South Pattaya but more interetsed to know about clean rooms and road noise that I have heard about. Thanks in advance.
Rooms; clean and you get 2 of them - bedroom and sitting room - oh, and bathroom and balcony. *
Road noise; I didn't notice any. *The traffic is busy (damn near stationary * ) in the early evening when all of Jomtien comes to town for the night, but flows well at all other times. *You can walk to Jenny Star in 10 minutes, early evening that can be faster .
Transport; it's ON the Pattaya-Jomtien baht bus route, just stick your hand out.
LB friendly? *I've only taken a couple back, having had a couple of negative experiences with thieving LBs on Beach Road late at night I don't trust them in my room while I sleep. *However, the hotel staff didn't bat an eyelid at them.
Security; in room safe (but as usual the staff can open them), IDs aren't routinely checked, but give the reception staff a nod and they do. *Actually, on the subject of reception, you can bypass it and go straight to your room (you still pass the security guard though).
Recommendations; bribe your cleaner for extra towels, 2 ain't enough. *Get a room on the top 2 floors (5 & 6), the view is better and the water pressure is MUCH better - I think that there's a booster pump on those floors, the lower ones are gravity fed and showers can be wimpy.
Will I stay there again? *Yes. *I've used Penthouse Hotel, * Pattaya Centre Hotel, New Firehouse Hotel and Yensabai Condos. *Next Trip; Residence Gardens if they've got a vacancy, if not I may look at Jomtien for a change.

good Hotel very guest Friendly will take id cards i have never been there with a LB but one girl i was with pointed out to me that the guy and with the girl at reception booking in was in fact a ladyboy.
The rooms are large with a big double bed i get a room overlooking the pool cost is around 1050 bah with an electronic safe a fully stocked large fridge that you can use to put your own stuff in even though there is a notice not too there is never any complaints when i do the bathrooms are large and clean the rooms are cleaned every day and the pool i set in nice grounds and has a jacuzzi at one end
The only drawbacks to the place is that it is a little bit far out of the way but no problem gettting baht buses and the germans taking the sun beds early in the morning but a very good hotel with very friendly staff
Regards trouble1s

read the excellent post 36 from Aircon. I asked same questions as u. Im booked there in 6 weeks and price is 1350 baht per day for a suite. I have driven past many many times and always wondered what it was like. Do a Google search and hundreds of reviews will turn up for Pattayahotels and especially Residence Gardens and simlar price ranged digs. I have also heard from mates of mine that Sandy Springs is good value and good loaction but have never stayed there my self. I like to stay just out side the fun areas but I also like to walk. Residence Gardens is a easy walk from Walking Street and only 10 baht to soi 6 and others.
