  • (dummy_plug @ Sep. 16 2008,02:13)  Depends, I don't know about this specific hotel, but I agree that mostly the older Sofitel properties are junky and run-down. However, the last few times I stayed at some of their newer properties I was quite impressed. They were like slightly more grown-up versions of the W hotels by Starwood.
I meant problems with bringing guests into other hotels in the Sofitel Group.

Its a brand new hotel, so will be nice.

    • I have seen comments on some forums about Sofitel hotels 'discouraging' guests.

Don't remember meeting anyone who stayed at one and tried taking a ladyboy in though.

      • wasnt it a disco at a Sofitel that had the "No-Ladyboy" allowed, which caused the big demonstration last year?

        • Hello, first of all I would like to say thanks for all the good information. Since I'll be first time in Bangkok and in peak season - beginning of January, I would like you to suggest me some moderately inexpensive hotel (1300-1500 BHT max) hotel near Nana Plaza.

What about Nana Hotel, are 2 ladyboys still not allowed in the room, are rooms really so bad, you can't invite your friend to stay with you?

          Thanks for answers.

KL, close but no cigar, it was Siam Novotel's the Concept CM2 club that did that. There was a threat to take the case to court and they changed the policy at the club to allow lbs to enter the club.

Back to the op's question: have a look through the hotels listed in this thread, you will find some that fit your specifications. Also, no reports of any changes in the Nana Hotel's policy about just 1 lb at a time.

Hi all, I'm still searching for some decent modestly priced hotel near NEP. What about Swiss Park Hotel? Is there still joiner fee, what about staff, are they ladyboys friendly? Thanks for answers.

I'm thinking about this Grand Lucky Hotel. I'm booking my trip for next week 30th sep to 3rd oct.
Anybody use this hotel before? Sounds like a red hot deal!
I know its so wrong, but it feels so right!

First a confession- i did try to e-mail sofitel grand suk, but was drunk as a skunk and cocked it up! Hence no reply!
E-mailed them yesterday with a story of being a freqeunt traveller and regular patron of the sofitel group!
Mostly a white lie as i have only stayed in a couple!
Asked about guest policy and specified kateoy guests!

The reply stated that if i provided the name of my guest when booking a double room it was no problem!
If i could not provide a name i.e pick up, there would be a joiner fee of B1000. Ok this is not much help for us bm's who do not have a clue to who our next ladyboy parterner will be

Bottom line if your prepared to pay joiner fee, they will accept ladyboy!
