(deepthroat @ Aug. 30 2010,07:51) Think I may take Manarak's advice - Adelphi Suites seems to be a great hotel from the looks of it, and currently are offering 54 sq meter Executive Suite for 3228 ThB via Agoda during Jan/Feb 2011 high season.
Any reason NOT to book the Adelphi? It seems to be very close to Nana, and looks like it would be comparable to the deluxe rooms at Majestic Grande that I likes so much.
Anyone got any feedback for me?
I think Adelphi Suites is better value than Majestic Grande for the same price.
Majestic Grande is a bit too plush for my taste - I like less gold and thinner carpets and more space.
The Majestic wins for the breakfast.
But the Adelphi has free internet, and coming from Europe I'm never up in time for breakfast anyway.
I took pictures of my mini-suite at the Adelphi and posted them in my last trip report. Have a look if you like the style.
And... don't forget to use my great hotel site to make your reservations! (see my sig) :-)
Thanks Steff I just booked at Heaven@4 for Oct.2-5 then off to Pattaya for a week then to Phuket for a week, looking forward to a great time as it's my 1st time in LOS.
(deepthroat @ Sep. 02 2010,07:13) I used your site Manarak and booked the Adelphi. I clicked the popup option "bill this stay to Manarak's business account."
Thank you!
What is the benefits you can offer by using your site?
Agoda is cheaper for Majestic Grande?
Agoda has very very good rates. Not always the cheapest, but never off by more than a handful bucks.
The Adelphi right now is 65 USD / night + tax and the Majestic is 90 USD / night + tax.
My site provides info on girl friendly hotels, I am an Agoda affiliate and the price is exactly the same as on Agoda itself, for the customer it is exactly like booking on Agoda directly.
So why not click on a link on my site to earn me some $ instead of letting it all go to Agoda, especially since I post pics and reviews here of the hotels I've stayed in?
I can offer the benefit of paying a beer to DT if I ever meet him!
Did a search for Huai Khwang, specifically looking for hotels in this area, but came up with nothing (maybe I spelt it wrong). I'm coming to town in a couple of weeks and have a mate staying in this area.
I'm looking for a guest friendly hotel/guest-house that is reasonably cheap. Don't need anything fancy, just some where to sleep and play.
Anyone ever stayed in this area and have any info about hotels?
Guys - Hotel Vie is my top pick for BKK. Note: I haven't taken LBs back, but have GGs w/ no problem. I don't think they'd sweat LBs, but I'm not sure.
It's a cab ride from Nana but my GOD it's an incredible deal for the King Suite. $130 Â a night out the door. (Last year I managed to get it for just around $100.) King bed in separate room, jacuzzi tub, huge shower, great living area space w/ couch floor to ceiling windows - amazing views of BKK, nearly brand new / trendy / modern. Beautiful wood floors and hallway leading in. Corner suite is the way to go. I actually like the location (Ratchatewi BTS) - close to MBK, Siam, so a nice change from Nana.
I don't usually "spring" for fancy hotels, but $130 will hardly buy you a Holiday Inn Express in the States, and I tend to spoil myself when I'm in BKK then go pretty cheap when I'm in Chiang Mai, Nam, or Cambo.
I stayed at the Kingston and think it is good value. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The service is also terrific. It is on Soi 15 about 400 meters or so from Sukhumvit. They have free Tuk-tuk service to drive you to the BTS Nana or Asok however the walk is easy.
By the way, I paid about $55. I do not know why you are happy to pay $130 and be so far from the action. Seems expensive to me. Half of that will get you a great room closer to Soi Cowboy and NEP that is guest friendly. The daily savings pays a BF and date. But up to you as they say.
(TEXASMAC @ Jun. 05 2013,02:24) So I don't have to read all 29 pages. Short walking distance to NANA, the NANA Hotel is booked, about $50.00. Any ideas?
If I would be in bkk, we can have a drink or two or so
