because the Majestic Grande was full, i booked into a 1-bedroom, jacuzzi suite at the Chateau de Bangkok on recommendation from BM TT Chang.

Now these do not come cheap (3900 bt inc breakfast- no roomservice except on saturdays!!) but wow- the rooms are great. A v large bedroom, 2 walki in closets, huge lounge/dining area and a great bathroom, and a small kitchenette.

Located next to the Conrad on wireless rd,10 minute walk to Ploenchit BTS, tyhis is a great alternative to the big 5 stars at the same price with loadsmore room.

Do you know if the Chateau offers a monthly rate and how much it would be?

              A question for KL.

From your posting it seems we share similar tastes in lodgings. Therefore what would be your choice? DIG or MG? I notice they are similar in price when you take into account MG offers brekky and supposedly the quality of rooms is better at MG.

Also what is this about back building and front building at DIG?

              Other comments most welcome.

              Thanks.

I always stay at the Majestic, but i changed my flights and came early and they were full, hence i stayed at the Chateau.

I find itcomfortable and good value.

dunno about building work at the DIG.

                    Hi Guys:

I have booked myself into Centre Point Langsuan for 4 nights (specified 2 ppl on the booking). Does anyone know if this place is LB friendly?

And secondly, do hotels here charge joiner fee even if you have booked for 2 ppl? (and only bring 1 dessert)

                    Thanks

Thanks to Dave Duke for the recommendation of the Key Hotel. Will be staying here May 4-7 and found it online for $62US per night(1,900 baht) for the gold key room.

Never stayed in the Swiss Park but did check up on it about 3 years ago.

At the time they were doing much needed refurbishments to some (all?) of the rooms.
I see from the website that they are probably much improved.

At that time I know they were ladyboy friendly as one young lady I knew said she had been in there.

Let us know how the Key Hotel works out for you - it's sure got some crappy reviews/traveler comments on TripAdvisor.com

I always check the reviews on that site when I'm booking travel. You have to look at the flavor of the overall reviews, not just a specific review as some of the reviews are posted by old folks or people who've not done much traveling. I can spot the reviews from people like myself who have similar values and needs and then judge the place based on reviews from those sort of people. Then again, there are places that just have bad reviews outnumbering good by a huge margin and I generally rule those places out without much investigation.

I'm currently leaning towards the Presidente Solitaire "platinum suite" if I can afford it on my trip next Feb.

Can anyone help me?  I'm a first timer   heading to Bangkok this fall.  Anyone familiar with Narai Hotel or Montein Riverside Hotel ?  Are they close to Nana Plaza and are they ladyboy friendly ?  Also anyone know where the Casanova Bar is ?  I'm hoping to meet up with Ice   .
