All ladyboys are not created equal it seems , and even in the teenage years there seeems to be a hierachy amongst them graded on looks.
The 2 girls with us are only here because they are family and are curious about a farang visitor, the guy is only there to drive them around, this clique is strictly LBs only. As they are not all old enough to get in to the club some say they will just hang around outside, its pretty dark so I can't really get a good look at them, most of them are just dressed down in jeans and t-shirt.
I recognise of one them as she is related to my guide for this expedition, she worked in a restaurant in BKK for a few months then went back home, but not before having some silicone and attitude injections, all the rest are still down to earth, they take the piss of her constantly pointing to her then themselves and saying "original" iwhich I think is one of the English words that all ladyboys have to learn by law before they are 16 like "supermodel"
Kalasin at night is like a ghost town and they only visible activity is in and around this MV nightclub, I pay for the 2 girls,4 ladyboys and myself to get in ( 800 Baht) but that gets a bottle of 100 Pipers and load of other drinks aswell.
It's only a Tuesday night but the place is packed out and fuckin dark, like a black sweatbox, a young crowd, all Thai, or I should I say all "Issan". After my vision has got used to the light I start spotting other young ladyboys running around with their boyfriends ( funny, I get told by all ladyboys that that they don't like Thai men
) We get seated and there is a constantly changing show onstage: bands, dancers, all to pounding Isaan music (if you dont know what Issan music is its the stuff you usually hear in taxis or get woken up by at 4am in the morning and you say "what the fuck is that?")
