I'm learning Thai and could probably get by with the essentials but also have a LB friend in Khon Kaen as well as one in Uttaradit both of whom have offered to tour me around.........but they both lean towards wanting me as more than a tour customer BUT I probably would get a better sense of the area by traveling with a local. The LB in Khon Kaen is a teacher at the Univ there and has offered to drive to BKK to see her mom then she and I could drive back together........sounds like a pretty good invitation I guess if I truly want to get an inside view of Issan. Thanks for your comments and tips....
