I was always made to feel welcome at Club 131, and since then at La Bamba (I was going to inform SB about the peanuts!!)

The lovely Kwang enveloping me on the sofa caused some amusement to the 'several' other customers at La Bamba on my first visit.  That was a great welcome, as I have always had from Alis (and the cashier, when she can stop winding me up by calling me 'Papa')

Lita's was the best    Hope we can find a replacement soon.

Stringfellows welcome reflects the post by rossco ... the way I get hassled by the service staff to buy girls drinks, and the way the mamasan there sometimes treats customers like shit on her shoe.  The Stringfellows girls, on the other hand, are mostly the top choices for me in Pattaya.

A return visit to Minou is called for, on my next trip.  And, as usual, I will be spending some time at Hema Cabaret.  And Pook Bar, and maybe Red Light Bar in Soi 6 where a few good looking LBs hang out I believe.

Ok, all these (and my phone book   ) should keep me busy

This is very true that mamasan is about the worst I have seen and the service girls are not much better. Luckily there is talent in there as otherwise I would not waste my time.

stogie is a *very* powerful man in thailand now.
apparently he has forced the government to ban smoking whereever he goes. as i understand it, as he approaches a bar, the brownshirts run in ahead of him and demand all smoking materials be extinguished immediately.
it's an amazing thing to watch.
i think it will be added to the tourist guide book soon as a "must see" event and without question it reinforces the truth that mr grumpy is all about clearing the air.

ALL airconditioned Bars will be going no smoking in mid February - the law has been changed so that bars are treated the same as restaurants when airconditioned. Outside beer bars are not affected by the change in the law. So any totally enclosed bar will be most affected, assuming they follow the law . So for example, In Guess Bar you can smoke on the terrace at the front, but not in the main bar. I am not sure how its going to work out for Gogo's - I suspect they have the most to lose and from a security standpoint it will be difficult for them to keep track of customers i.e are they going outside for a smoke, or have they left and not paid the bill. I think thats going to be one of the hardest parts for some bars to control.

As a ladyboy fanncier, I am fully aware that a majority of my fellow sex tourists will never indulge (not their cup of tea). There was always a upper limit of how many sucessful LB bars there could be in Pattaya. Like it or not Ladyboys are a niche market and as some have pointed out in this thread the bussiness models of many bars are somewhat flawed. (Rather than encourage people to drink in you bar, you get a small cut when they leave with a girl). If I were in the bar bussiness I would try to make the bar an exciting or entertaining enough place so that someone would want to spend a large part of there evening there (buying drinks and putting money into the till). Just my two cents worth.

Bar fines are a considerable percentage of the turnover for a ladyboy bar. I think you underestimate how quickly these "small cuts" accumulate.

But I do agree with you and pray for the day when someone makes a bar in Pattaya that I actually want to walk in and stay at!

What i think is,comparing to few years ago there are lots off more bars with LBs in them now...and we are talking LOTS more.I use to go hunting but not now there every where..so there is not a real need for a LB bar..LB go-go yes ,but not a bar..Plus don't forget ,some of us don't mind to be seen in a LB bar but there are lots more pips. who don't like to be seen with LBs...ones who just phon and get the LB in there rooms,,, for them bar with 2-3 LB is the place that they can go...and most of the bar owners are realizing that having a LBs in there bars is a good thing for the biznes...

..speaking of all the changes in Pattaya with closings and openings......can the talented person that created that great LB venue map take sometime and up date it? ....but maybe keeping tabs on them is like trying to hit a moving target.

If you barfine a babe, she wants to stay all night and probably for the rest of your holidays.
