Smog was bad when I left January 8, but not as bad as last year's. For some reason I think the smog wafted down from Bangkok and mixed with the dust from the Beachwalk construction. Everybody was coughing. Thais, white tourists, and me. Couldn't stop coughing all of the 2 months I was there. I think it started from my 20 hours flight from Honolulu. Cold air, contaminated air, low cabin air pressure, and cold Taipei layover for 3 hours. China Airline food has deteriorated badly. Hate how they put some sugary sauce on my white rice. Anyway this smog is going to get worse as the population grows. There is now a drought ongoing, and it will get worse this year. Don't think the dollar baht exchange rate will improve. In some ways the decrease it tourism number where the Chinese and Indians are up and the Europeans and American is down means less competition for bar dates. Just got to bear that I am getting B5000 less for each US$1000 I change. BTW, the best way to understand the TM30 crap law is that Chan Ocha is fooling everybody into government martial law. What a dicktator. Glad I don't live there. Don't even want to buy property or a condo.

This disease could not have picked a better time to start an epidemic. Super cold an miserable winter in the USA. Bad pollution in all Asian cities plus poor sanitation practices everywhere, especially in the public food outlets in the streets. I was coughing and sneezing as soon as I landed in BKK early November 2019. Swallowed Strepsil cough losenges everyday throughout my 2 month stay. I checked the Smog Indexes for BKK and Pattaya everyday and it was always UNHEALTY FOR SOME or UNHEALTY. You could see the stinking smog almost everyday over the seaside town from the Central Festival shopping center. A lot of tourists and Thais were coughing. I had to wear my paper surgical mask everyday. I didn't recover until after I returned home and it's taking almost a month to get rid of my cough. I think the bad thermostats in the hotels contribute to the problem. Always too cold or too hot. Novotel Sukhumvit 4 front desk really tried to accommodate me by sending a technician three times during my last 5 days in BKK. I think I will need to find another place to stay IF the exchange rate and China Coronavirus improves. Glad I did not buy a condo or home there. Better to live in the USA.

Filipino are so fucking stupid. Their stupidity can kill me. Luckily the asphalt was still warm and soft enough to cut right through the dump. Scared the hell out of me. Should have bought a car. After that I rode my motorcycle during the day and a taxi at night. Then came another accident. A homeless guy runs across a boulevard while I'm driving at 35 mph. Bam! I nail him right between his legs and rip open his pants. Since he was poor there was nothing I could do. Nobody comes to my aid. Lots of people speed and die in Manila, and the newspapers don't even bother to report it.

I don't see the problem. If you are allowed to have pet monkeys then why not teach it a skill?
I figure if you are feeding him he can at least do some chores. In fact, they actually enjoy it.
I've seen them doing it at one of the monkey shows and they love it.

There is not really any wild life in Thailand. The monkeys everywhere in Thailand are at least partially dependent on humans. They have lived around humans so long they lack some skills in looking for food or they prefer the human food. You can drive for hours and not see any animals other than dogs or cats in most of Thailand. In all of the Rice growing areas there does not seem to be any animals at all. If you get out to jungles there is some smaller animals and various creatures but still not much. If you go into the forest in Canada you don't know what you will run into. Thailand you are more likely to run into drug dealers than any actual wild life in the jungles.
It seems like people have lived there for so long that every square inch of Thailand has been used over and over and most all animals have been killed, domesticated or eaten. All that is left is snakes and bugs.

We have dogs but all we ever do is teach them to fetch a stick.
One day they will save our lives by fetching a stick?
Although we do teach some dogs to hunt so that is not much different than teaching a monkey to pick coconuts.

Just joking, Crag. Ever seen those ripoff monkeys on the Gibraltar. Because the earliest tourists often thought they were cute they'd give them snacks or bitss of they're lunches, cookies, etc. Eventally the Gibraltar natives would see an opportunity to make lots of money selling bananas. Even if a sign "DO NOT FEED" was installed at the beginning of the trail it would not work. People go absolutely BANANAS at the sight of monkeys. Even when they open your, backpacks and steal anything edible. If your backpack is locked they will steal your whole bag and figured a out a way to open with either their fingers or teeth. So the best thing to do is travel lightly with a cell phone for pictures. Carry your water and lunch in a small backpack and NEVER take it off. I've never had the opportunity to see these monkeys except on a travel channel. BUT you can see them on YouTube.com. just type in GIBRALTAR MONKEYS. look for the tv report by none other than RENA NEENAN, an India gal who pronounces her words carefully. Must have taken some serious speech classes. India folks do impress me like Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN. I have met Indians in Pattaya. It only a few who are cheap Charlie's who really are frugal and like to get a lot for a little. There are rich young ones like I've met in Honey's Massage/ Bathhouse on Soi Honey (of course). They love the most voluptuous girl you've ever seen under the ultra bright spot lights. Prices range from B2000 to B3000 for one hour. You have to observe whether she wears a blue or red numbered badge. Sorry I can't take photos. NOT ALLOWED. Even posts a big/huge monetary fine. BTW a huge multi-storey brand new Honey's III was built right next to the FRIENDSHIP STORE on Pattaya South Road. Right across the street from the Bhukao Tented Flea Market. Sorry I couldn't take pictures of this new place as my wide angle lens was not wide enough. Couldn't go inside because it was too early in the afternoon. Gotta go visit in the overnight to see the Ultra-quality girls. Will have to wait until next year's winter season when the weather is cooler. Hopefully the thick toxic smog wafted down south to Pattaya and beyond will disappear. Maybe not. Might decide to visit idyllic Ko Samui and hope they have some Ladyboy pretties who like to be photographed NUDE. I think a 2-week introductory trip should be enough. Does anybody know what beach area on Ko Samui is best AND what hotel is clean, has a pool, and is close to good restaurants, bars with ladyboys, escort friendly. I will pay a little more for a better experience.
