At'w why I never walk down Soi 6 or the parallel street. I can tell they are vicious fighters. Soi 7 and 8 are for the most part friendlier. Bhukao doesn't pique my interest. Too ugly and speak bad English. Too tell you the truth 8 years is probably enough. When I return next year or next it will be my last trip. Maybe visit Chiang Mai (if the air pollution dies down), Bangkok, and finally Pattaya. Then it's adios. At age 73 I'm getting worn out and very bored of Thailand. Fantastic memories but business of hunting for hookers is for younger men. So visit while you can and always stay alert for attacks by jealous, drunk, and robber Thais. Always keep a pathway to run away. Truthfully I have been lucky because I'm Asian. They seem to trust me and like my soft-spoken perfect English voice. I've lived in the Bangkok suburbs on and off for a few years as I have a house there. Even though I have a couple of available cars at the house I never drive in Bangkok. Only out of town. Use the MRT, BTS, Chao Phraya Ferries, AC buses, and rarely taxis. Can walk two blocks from my house and get on the MRT and connect wherever I want to go in the city fast, inexpensive, and unaffected by traffic. Actually easier to navigate than the NYC subway system and a heck of a lot less expensive. Also, The NYC subway system has become an unsafe place to be for anyone these days. ...I happen to love big cities and have also lived in Paris and L.A....traffic sucks in all 3 places but I've just resigned myself that it will take an hour to get someplace 10 miles away
...Paris has great mass-transit,L.A. doesn't,BKK is not bad and getting better every year...I enjoy the buzz and energy that 7-12 million people create when kinda packed together...it's not everyone's cup of tea though...just my 2 centsComment
