Guest policy for rented apartments in BKK?

So here's my question--if you rent an apartment in BKK, what's the policy on bringing back, let us say, "nightly guests?"

I'm asking because I booked a one month stay in a rather basic place in Huai Kwang online, for use while deciding where to live and looking for apts here , only to find when I arrived that the "lease" , a rather rudimentary one page doc., stated as one of its clauses "gambling, partying (!) intoxicants, controlled substances or bringing in prostitutes strictly forbidden at all times"

That's a bit of a surprise but maybe OK for a short term place. However it would be a bit of a pisser if this applied to what will become my permanent residence!

The red shirts have ensured that I can't actually go any where or even start looking for a nicer place right now, so I'm at a bit of a loose end, and so would benefit from a few 'nice visitors.' I guess it's not to be, here at least.

Any experiences with this issue that you could let me have the benefit of?

    Cheers

How is the access to your apartment? Do you have to walk directly past the reception area and is it even manned at night?

I wouldn't worry about guests. It sounds like the place you have rented isn't exactly gonna be knocking down your door checking work references!

Did you pay a deposit? You can say goodbye to that!

          sounds about right!

I wouldn't have signed the lease if that clause had been included for my serviced apartment in Soi 4.  Now you come to mention it, I may have spotted a soi dog in the lift the other day ....

Soi dogs are great ball and arse lickers just smear abit of bbq sauce on and they will lick you all night

As usual this thread appears to be drifting off topic.....

To answer Partington  -  clauses like that are not unusual in rental agreements.
Bet most of you never read the small print on serviced apartment agreements.

So long as you pay the rent and don't cause too much hassle no one is going to pay any attention to who, or what!, you bring back.

I'm sure as well they can't hold it against you if you definition of a relationship is one night - it's not like the ladies have a card reading 'i'm a prostitute'

I've never met any prostitutes in LOS anyway. Just bargirls and unemployed (freelance) bargirls.

OK chaps a useful reply or two within the weird riff on soi dogs, thanks for that..

I would say however that most of the bar girls I've encountered in fact do near as dammit have the word prostitute written on their foreheads..
