If Wongsawat would step down (call new elections), pro-government groups will start a fit. If he doesn't anti-government groups will continue their fit (reject election call).

Civil Court orders protesters to leave Suvarnabhumi Airport immediately

The Civil Court Wednesday night issued an injunction, ordering the People's Alliance for Democracy and its supporters to leave the Suvarnabhumi International Airport immediately.

The court agreed with request of the AOT Plc, which filed a suit earlier in the day to seek an urgent injunction against the protesters.

Particularly the first American's statement is hillarious , how ignorant (sorry not wanting to offend any of the board members.) Just made me sigh and laugh a little.
      What?? Americans ignorant???

with regard to other entry points to thailand -- do those of you either on the ground or 'in the know' imagine that these PAD protesters will limit themselves to bkk because it's their main source of support (royalists, urban middle class, businessmen, etc) or do you suspect they'll spread out to shut down airports in koh samui, phuket, pattaya, etc as well?
i'd hate to book around bkk (costing me more time, money and trouble) only to be foiled anyway.
i'm gonna hate not making it back for NYE if it comes to that...

by "Fly to KL", do you mean stop off at your place and hitch a ride?

my 'Guess' is that Chiang Mai airport should be 'safe', but all others are at risk. They closed down Phuket, Krabi and Surat Thani briefly a month ago.

When you coming to town ?

                            That brings up a thought....
How in the hell did they breach airport security??
In any other country there would tear gas, bashing, arrests etc.

I still can't decide whether to fly to Thailand (if the flight is going) on Tuesday or not. I would appreciate any ideas to help me decide. I can put off this decision until Sunday or Monday.

For me, it's not the end of the world if I don't go - but I really would like to.

For now, I'll just keep reading.

They just closed Don Muang also!

The capital is now completely cut off from all air traffic!
