Back to the (lack of) Gestapo tactics ...  by anyone in authority ...

Now the PM is proposing a Referendum.  But that may take a couple of months to arrange, and as far as I can judge will just divide the country even more.  It will be good for tourism though .... more bar closures    ..... more airports closed   ....  more warnings not to gather in groups of 5+   The Army are standing back, 'discreetly' ignoring the State of Emergency (according to one interpretation)

What next?  Oh the Foreign Minister has resigned (presumably because all overseas representatives in BKK  keep asking him 'what the f*** is going on?')..  And they haven't  clue.

The referendum is a brilliant non-idea, it solves nothing and prolongs the pain....still, it might pass.

The cool part is it will take at least two months to organize this, exactly the same amount of time it will take the Supreme court to rule of the Electoral Commission's recommendation that the ruling PPP party be dissolved.

I prefer to spend my 1200 on a pair of cuties, rather than a smelly cab driver who plays the radio too loud.

Any update guys? Papers in the UK are saying that the Government here advises against travel to Thailand, but checking that it seems the advice isnt much different to what it was before - perhaps a little more strongly worded. My own common sense tells me its still something you wouldn't really notice unless you want to hang around Government House, but you never know until someone there tells you the reality.

Its changing day by day, the risk is that PAD supporters will start taking action that affects the tourism industry, so far they have closed some airports and disrupted railway service. In the future you could see more of the same, a utilities strike, disruption of phone/internet service, disruption of the skytrain/subway, and Thai Airways having a slowdown....or you could see none of that....who knows.

p.s. My Masseuse in Pattaya is a PAD supporter, which struck me as odd, I would have pegged her for PPP, but it does show that PAD does have support outside Bangkok and is not as limited as the government likes to paint them.
